| #1dankanMay 06, 2008 1:01:53 | What d ou think about him?I'm planning to incorprate him an a campaign soon. The story will go something like this. The PCs are recruited(willingly or not) by the Red Wizards(especially Szass Tam) to go into free Unther and try to unite the forces there, in order to withstand the advance of mulhorand's forces. The way to do that is first depose of the remnants of the church of Gilgeam then recruit Shurupak and convince him to fight in their side(free Unther's).By wiping out the followers of Gilgeam Thay hopes that some of the enmity among Untherians will cease and they 'll unite against their common enemy. That still is not enough however because Mulhorand has already recruited Shurupak on their side and so they still win the day. After that Szass Tam orders the PCs to fetch help from somewhere else, that somewhere being Chessenta and its leader. The lich's proposal is that he'll help Tchazzar bring all of Chessenta's free cities under his rule(by offering him the PCs' help as his agents). In return for that he expects the Dragon to march his armies against Threskel and free Unther as a last resort to stop the Mlhorandi. That's where i'm facing difficulties. What do u think i should do from now on?As DOF says there are a lot of powers strugling for control in Unther and they won't all unite againsta single enemy. So what is about to happen with the struggle between the Cult of Dragon and the Chucrh of Tiamat?Between Untheri who want to oppose Mulhorand and those who want to ally with them? Finally there's the matter of tchazzar's archenemy the Great Bone Wyrm who will possibly assist the Untheri agaist the advance od Muhlorand's troops, but both the Cult of Dragon and Tchazzar wish him dead. And as DoF implies by moving against Threskel Tchazzar's forces will shatter the alliance the Great Bone Wyrm has with the Church of Tiamat. So all in all what do u think about it?Any suggestions or ideas?I wouls appreciate it if u could help me:D |

As the last Untheric diety, he felt the call of his people, and decided to help them gain revenge on those who were seeking conquer them. The party became his mortal agents. One of the quests they had to undertake, was to find Shurrapak, and convince him to become Hoar's chosen. Hoar promised to help him gain vengence on Tiamat for the death of Gilgeam, and that was enough to convince him. Eventually, the party and Shurrapak had a show down with Tchazzar. As the chosen of Tiamat, Tchazzar was the perfect focus for Shurrapaks vengance. He succeeded in slaying Tchazzar at the cost of his own life. The party was then left with having to unite the rest of Unther under Hoar, fend off the banites and followers of Tiamat who tried to lay claim, and fend off the Mulholand army. Soo.... for your campaign, you could easily borrow the idea of Shurrapak having a vendetta against Tchazzar. He despises Tiamat for the death of his lord, and Tchazzar he would hate even more, as her chosen. A status that was taken from him. You could have Shurrapak gunning to take down Tchazzar, and the PC's helping to stop him in exchange for Tchazzar's support against the Mulholandi (who would agree, as the mulholandi were Shurrapak's allies). Thus they could secure one faction. With Tam's new ties to bane, I am sure that he could help get the local banites to aid as well. So that pretty much leaves the actual Untherites (who should be wanting to defend themselves anyways). The real trick though, should come after the Mulholandi are driven back, and keeping these seperate factions from tearing the country apart themselves. |

Because Szass will first instruct the PCs to destroy the followers of Gilgeam, in order to unite the remaining franctions of power under one banner, he won't learn who got rid off the followers of his god, but if he's about to know then he will probably join those forces immediatelly and he will be proven a pin on the PCs ass. Then there's the matter of the oposing forces lying in Unther such as the Church of Tiamat who have an enmity with the followers of Gilgeam and the Cult of Dragon but have an alliance with the Great Bone Wyrm and if that is broken, then with Tchazzar(as i intend it to happen). Then there are some wizards who want to depose the influence of Gilgeam( this have been already accomplished so they'll be the first to join the Red Wizards against Mulhorand), the Cult of Dragon, which, despite its schism with the Great Bone Wyrm and the enmity with the Tiamat's church wants to keep Mulhorand's forces out of remaining Unther and finally the Untheri who want to ally with Mulhorand. So any thoughts, ideas or suggestions about what will probably happen with these groups? |
| #4bonzaiMay 06, 2008 16:41:37 | I would break down the individual groups and handle them seperately. The followers of Gilgeam wouldn't want to be ruled by a foriegn power, so they should be fairly easy to turn against the invaders. The Cult of the Dragon has power, but is comparatively small in numbers. Not only that, but they are pretty much divided between Banites, Followers of Tiamat, and individual wizards/drocoliches of power. Between Tam and Tchazzar, the banites and followers of Tiamat should be handled. The rest of the cult should fall in line, if they can be convinced that it would profit by it. The key is to have some one strong enough to unite the nation. They have to be able to convince, coerce, and threaten these various forces into a cohesive group. It should be tough, but saving a doomed nation never is easy. In my campaign, Hoar was the unifying force. In yours it is up to the PC's. |
