Sep 05, 2008 19:03:12 I know technically the church can be anywhere. However, I would like to hear some suggestions on what areas might have a strong tie to this god.

I was thinking the demonlands (Damara, Vaasa, Impiltur, Great Dale) might be a good place for this. There might be a rivalry between the devils and demons in the area.

Thanks for any suggestions.

-Anyway, I think that the "Church" of Asmodeus (I'll never accept him as a deity! Didn't like it when he was, and don't like it now that he is again!) would be very cult-ish, and as such, would exist all over the world, hidden and secretive, in cells.

-Cults often have very strong, very intricate organizational structures. The Cult of the Dragon, for example. While they exist/existed in a cult format, they still had a "despotic" leader, with his hands firmly grasping the reigns of leadership of the whole organization, not just his specific cult. Shar as well, to a degree, with Rivalen Tanthul acting as the "Nightbringer", or whatever his title was, and operating as the connecting factor between various independent cults.

Eh, not according to most definitions of the word "cult". From a sociological perspective, any church can be considered a "cult", and there's nothing pejorative about that.

I think naex's joke has an element of truth in it.
