| #1DonnyDMJun 10, 2008 23:53:30 | Currently working on converting a Dark Ages CoC adventure to FR. Basic concept the the players are Cormyrians or adventurers in Cormyr. They are hired by the church of Amaunator to escort 2 priests and 5 monks to the city of Elmhurst. Elmhurst is a city created for the module. Journey will take 2 weeks from somewhere in cormyr. To the edge of a shadovar empire. Need to place the city in a wooded area near Shadovar territory. Was thinking maybe place the city in Archendale. Also one of the Shadovar is a shadow that can possess bodies. Anyone have a clue about a mechanic that does this? I'm gonna run the adventure with pregen characters. One will be a ranger from cormathor, one will be a former purple dragon, One will be a cleric of Amaunator, and one will be a warlock. Any other suggestions for pregens? I should make like 8 pregens total. |

I see from Arabel they cross the Immerflow, Hullack forest, pass thru Thunder Gap in the Thunder Peaks, then they would reach Highmoon. Think it would be a big problem if I said Highmoon was a ghost town that had been wiped out by the Shadovar like the Tilverton? Then I just place elmhurst about 10 miles down the road near Archenwood. Think I'll also say the woods have greatly expanded in the last 100 years say they are right on the road. |

The season could add description and effect wanders upon the road. As for a city, town or village make one up(Aurora: a human, half-elf town or village) there is plenty of room for creation and destruction on the road or a side road. There are alot of rumors and legends about those places up there. A Ghostly Shadovar who uses Malevolence in order to free it's soul from a curse or a simple Magic Jar spell shadow style. It maybe a lost Netherese magic magic item that works like a Magic Jar shadow warped. main thing is ye feel free to create with the area and capture that mood of mysterious adventure |
| #4DonnyDMJun 11, 2008 10:08:09 | Someone recommended checking out ghost for stat info on possession. Now I just need some shadovar minions. Has anyone wrote some up themselves? On my way out the door to work. If anyone has could you post the stats here. If I don't see any when i get home I'll post some stats myself. |

Bear in mind that the 4E FR sourcebooks will not be out until August, so it's hard to give much information about the post-Spellplague Realms (that seems to be what you want to use). The core rulebooks are out, but the amount of content that is at this time much smaller than the amount of content for 3E. I'm not sure if there even are any 4E rules for "ghost possesion", for example (I don't have my 4E books yet). |
| #6The_Simbul_of_AglarondJun 11, 2008 21:50:45 | The Shadovar have learned to create Shadow Simulacra, which are ghost-like constructs torn from the shadow of their creator. Aside from acting as a weaker proxy of their creators, they can possess living beings or reside within a corpse to interdict attempts at speak with the dead and similar magic. They appear in the Twilight War novel series by Paul S. Kemp, and are also statistically detailed in the game rules in Shadowdale: the Scouring of the Land. |

If one needs info quick and off the cuff from CHAINMAIL excuse me Dark-Age(which a Dark age may be what SPELLPLAGUE is, I'm not sure learning a whole new way of playing is the answer a few questions. One has to think billions of changes might take place during a spell-plague and that would be confusing. Especially for wizards with millions of spirits and souls tumbling through there head like Velsharoon. Forgive us but we or we're just answering what we can remember dear, of a realm that might still exist where it may tucked away and almost Forgotten. |
