Bahamut had a much lighter presence in FR in the past, as compared to Tiamat, though there is some.

Bahamut is worshipped in the Bloodstone Lands, after he helped the heroes there in their battles against Zhengyi/Orcus/Tiamat. He gave them the fancy Tree-Gem, and gave his blessing/protection to Damara. Faithful of Bahamut, including 3.5e Dragonborn, have appeared there.

Bahamut was also worshipped in ancient Unther, as Marduk the Justice-Bringer. He was slain in battle against Tiamat during the Orcgate Wars (when the Untheric deities went to war with the Orcish gods). Tiamat also died, but got better. Bahamut's clergy died out in Unther.

Bahamut's power has fluctuated over the years, going from human god to dragon god, powerful dragon-king to god, and back and forth.

Dragons Of Faerun is a good source for Bahamut in FR, as is the 2e Draconomicon.

-I wouldn't go as far as to call Bahamut's worshipers a 'cult'. I'd say that they were a full-fledged, 'certified' church.

-But, anyway, the above mentioned sources are pretty much it. Bahamut, while a pretty cool deity, was never really prevalent much.

I think with the new rising of the ancient Dragonfall War Bahamut's clergy in the 14th century realms favors the more warlike traditions of his dogma. Incidently paladins would rank higher than clerics within the hierarchy of the Platinum Dragon's church. Though most of those paladins would be venturing with ragtag parties to achieve greater goals than they could reach with only the resources from Bahamuts church alone, and most of those churches would be trying to muster small strikeforces. Tiamat's power is greater in Southern Fearun. Most of Bahamuts holdings there are hard pressed to stop the agents of Tiamat from sacking their temples and preventing establishments from organising.

In 15th century FR the church of Bahamut would be more widespread and more focused on the spread of the churches influence. Bot pallies and clerics would oncemore be preaching the churches dogma but would be fighting its newfound enemies in the former foes of the Triad aswell.

I didnt even know he was "officially" in the FR.

"The great and good Platinum Dragon, revered by many of his ilk, resides in the dominion overseen by Torm."

--FRPG, p. 153

He's also listed as a good male god of justice in the table at p. 80 of the FRCG. His priests are called Justiciars.

-Yeah, he always was. In 3e, there was a mix up with including him in the FRCS, or F&P, don't remember which one. I believe it was F&P, in the infamous 'Monstrous Deities' list.

We know that leaving Bahamut out of the list of nonhuman deities [among others] in 3e Faiths and Pantheons was actually an error -- as Tom and Eric have stated in the past. So Bahamut is *supposed* to exist in the 3e Realms just as he did in previous editions.

Dragons of Faerûn "corrects" this.
