Eventually the party explored Tethyamar assisting some dwarves with a claim to one of the many deadly mines there. I had to pull some old material, I had created for a 2E game and try to update the timeline of threats similar to 4E Realms. They explored many level ruin city districts and mines. They also learned a little about the power groups there and how Zhents mercenaries were secretly trying to sabotage their employer the Shadovar, who were showing interest in trying to unite the many hordes of Tethyamar. I can see them using a different source material as an example of how one might use other game sources with the Realms, but it would be nice to see that good old Realms flavor of Zhents, Beholders, Devils, Duegars, Oni's(Ogre Mage!), Cyclope, Fomorians, Shades, Illithids, a Lich with its many undead minions, Dwarven Undead and ghostly spirits with clues of the past, a properly placed Dragon here and there, Drow Slavers, and I also placed a Portal into the Abyss guarded by a nasty demon which the party had to close in order to secure an ancient magically sealed keep for the dwarves with the claim, who were trying to mine there. I had to come up with this all on my own doing research last year (I enjoy it). We had fun and those PC's, those who are still alive, are in Waterdeep now adventuring. The guys were alittle freaked out showing large grins, when they saw a Video Game coming out that sounds similar to what they did in my game. I just smiled and told them "That's the Realms" and I should get paid doing this kind of stuff.... |

It was pretty well done if I recall and fit almost perfectly with the landscape. It's where the Nentir Vale resides in my Realms anyways. Though I could also see it near or in the Dalelands too. |
