I really liked Daemonscythe's description of the difference in magic post Spellplague. It was easier to channel and concentrated in the Weave, but now its diffused into the world and harder to draw upon. I think thats the best description of the change in the nature of magic in the Realms ive read so far.

As for the way I described magic, I felt it was fairly appropriate, especially considering the rules changes to how a lot of magic works. True, some things you can do more often, but things like rituals and spells that normally were part of the wizard's repetoir take a really long time to cast now, compared to older versions. It just sort of fit, lol.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked it. I'm building toward something, and there might be an inkling of what's to come when I finish the next installment.
The reason he was allowed in Myth Drannor is because that he, Amaranth, and several others that made up their adventuring band at the time, the Knights of the Silver Flame, had joined up with the Crusade that eventually retook Myth Drannor. Although despite the fact that he had proven himself, things weren't exactly...smooth, during his time there, admittedly. I plan on exploring all of those events in more detail in future writing, when I backtrack to cover bits of Kaelen's past, but it's all pretty well thought out.
Another thing, and a reason why Kaelen has been a favorite character of mine to write about. He's entirely unlikely, really. And that's sort of what sets him apart from even his own people. If I recall, most of the Dark Elves live within Rhymanthiin, these days. Kaelen's always been atypical, so I envisioned his dedication to Myth Drannor, and then later his practically self-imposed exile, kept him from connecting with any of his kind after Eilistraee's death. He may or may not be the last Darksong Knight (he likely isn't, honestly, but it seems like most consider Eilistraee's followers to have vanished), but he certainly sees himself as the last. And with a spellscar that's slowly consuming him...that he relies on to strengthen himself after being so diminished over the years, that weakens him every time he uses it, to the point where he almost has to use it to overcome especially powerful enemies...it's a vicious circle, and he knows his time is coming.

Heh. He's never been a big fan of prophecy though.
I dislike what they did to Realms. It seemed to me that they wanted to get away from certain aspects of the Old Realms. So most things that have to do with the new Realms I am bias...so the fact that I like it is a major compliment from me.
Also one of the things that they did that made me stop reading the novels was killing of Eilistraee in the fashion they did. So your choice of story I find very good. I know that you probably would not be able to bring her back officialy. But I still like the story.
And yes, I was bothered by Eilistraee's death, but the worst part to me was how, after everything they did, after redeeming those drow that followed her, they just sorta...forgot about them...
Thank you very much, and yes I have noticed your comments about the new realms in the past, lol. So I definitely took it as a major compliment that you enjoy my writing. It's sort of a dream of mine to bring Eilistraee back somehow, though I doubt I'd be able to do it officially. Still, I've got those ideas bubbling in the back of my head, so maybe someday...

Yeah I'm not really buying that Eilistraee got destroyed. At absolute worst she was absorbed by Corellon, which is actually probably the most sensible outcome to read from the epilogue.
Then again, none of that trilogy other than Q'arlynd and Karas being awesome actually happened.

I dunno, the whole crap with no male priests at all(Unless you go through the proper sex change ritual first, then you're worthy of her granting you powers, and even then this only actually ever makes an appearance that I know of in the Ask Ed threads on Candlekeep) really, REALLY rubs me the hell the wrong way. At least Vhaeraun doesn't demand that his Masked Traitors *literally* grow a pair. Hell, even Lolth allows the occasional male priest if only to stir things up.

Also, he had serious daddy issues since daddy apparently didn't hug him enough. Clearly he and Corellon just need to sit down and have themselves an honest heart-to-heart talk(Do gods even have hearts?) and work things out.
