I just read about that and it had me wondering if it was a Realms novel or not. The title alone sounds very Realmsian, but reading the description it doesnt really say, but now that you mention it, I notice that it does say Forgotten Realms in tiny letters underneath Dungeons & Dragons, not a good sign I think. Used to be theyd make it a point to let you know that its a Realms novel, even had FOrgotten Realms on them in big letters, I dont like where this is going, whats next? They just get rid of the other settings entirely!?

But regardless, it sounds interesting, might be worth checkin out, I'll have to read it once im done with the Ed Greenwood presents Waterdeep series.

My thoughts exactly. Reminds me of the Watercourse Trilogy, which just seemed to me like a Realms adaptation of The Fountainhead, neither of which I enjoyed very much (and I'm putting that politely).

I get the feeling this one will rise higher in my eyes by comparison, though.

May 04, 2011 10:25:34 I'm not too keen on the plot (seems a little contrived) but I am excited to see Devas/Aasimars getting a little spotlight in Realms novels. So I might pick this up for that reason alone. Besides, I quite enjoy books that deal with the Divine (except for maybe the Avatar Trilogy).

Anywho, if someone picks this up and reads it, I'd like to hear a good review on the novel before purchasing.

Circle of Skulls - May 2010

Sword of the Gods - April 2011

and now Dawnbringer - May 2011

They seem to be getting a big spotlight lately. Also sounds like Sword of the Gods will be getting more attention in the future. I really enjoyed Sword of the Gods as well as Circle of Skulls.

They seem to be getting a big spotlight lately. Also sounds like Sword of the Gods will be getting more attention in the future. I really enjoyed Sword of the Gods as well as Circle of Skulls.

Bruce Cordell was nice enough to reply to an email I sent him and said he was already writing the sequel to Sword of the Gods. Said it would be called "Spinner of Lies".
I thought Sword of the Gods was great, so I am looking forward to Spinners.

Dawnbringer's plot doesn't grab me, I think I will wait for a review before I pick it up.
