| #1DarthjamonJun 26, 2012 12:40:28 | Hi, I'm searching for an adventure or a part of adventure where players start from the surface (or not) and need to explore underdark to find a drow enclave. This can be an adventure by itself. If somebody knows where can I find this or how to do this... Thanks and sorry for my english! sam |
| #2sfdragonJun 26, 2012 14:07:15 | did you look for the old drow of the underdark and the 4e underdark books??? or the LFR site? |

From LFR: CORE2-1 Killing the Messenger CORE2-8 Enemy of My Enemy CORE2-12 The Sschindylryn Heresy QUES1-1 Black Cloaks and Bitter Rivalries |

| #5sfdragonJun 26, 2012 17:35:04 | you can just create an entrance somewhere too.... |
| #6ImruphelJul 01, 2012 22:27:20 | Hi, As already mentioned, 3E's City of the Spider Queen has this. If you're prepared to go back a bit further in the editions, 1E has the GDQ series: G1-3 are three adventures involving giants (recently re-released as four separate DDi adventures - stone giants were added into the mix - updated for 4E) which led to D1 Descent into the Depths of the Earth, D2 Shrine of the Kuo-Toa and D3 Vault of the Drow. D1, D2 and D3 have not been updated for 4E but the maps and descriptions are still useful for a 4E campaign (one I intend to run before I die). Another option for 3.5E is Queen of Lies by Monte Cook. You can buy this on RPGNow. It's a good adventure and can easily be made to fit in the Realms and is also easy enough to update to 4E. |

| #8DarthjamonJul 03, 2012 1:07:42 | Thanks guys! I run a 4th d&d edition and i bought the 4e underdark books and LFR but there is not example of a "descent" from the surface to the deep. I would like to create THE atmosphere, make feel the changes in terms of sensations and monsters of course. That's why I think the idea of an adventure only for the descent is important especially the first descent. Anyway thanks for the answers!! |

When our DM ran the adventure we had an expedition from the surface to the city (and then back again!). While some of it might have been adlibbed. I'd be surprised if he created the whole trip there and back again. |
| #10DarthjamonJul 06, 2012 11:07:33 | @ JohnLyn Actually I want to run this module! And that's exactly what I'm searching for, the expedition from the surface to the city!! Do think youre DM will share this part of his scenario? And Yes he created the whole trip there and back!!! |
| #11JohnLynchJul 06, 2012 18:11:14 | @ JohnLyn I'll ask him for you. Although if he made it up there's a chance it's all just in his head. |
| #12DarthjamonJul 10, 2012 10:26:05 | Cool!! Wizards just edited a old encounter tab for the underdark. Anyway I'm waiting for you. Thanks |
| #13JohnLynchJul 14, 2012 3:04:13 | Cool!! He said it was all in the adventure. There were suggestions on what to throw at the PCs as they make their way down with locations, and he liked them all so much he used all of them. He said it didn't contain any of the stats, but it referred to monsters so it's easy enough to open up the relevant MM. |
| #14GhendarJul 14, 2012 10:12:36 | Hi Darthjamon, I played through some of City of the Spider Queen in 3e. Tough adventure |
| #15DarthjamonJul 25, 2012 1:06:26 | ok thanks johnlynch! maybe in Menzzoberanzan there will be something to improve the "descent". Thanks all for your anwser |
| #16ImruphelJul 25, 2012 9:21:44 | ok thanks johnlynch! Seriously, if you want to play out the descent, grab copies of D1 Descent into the Depths of the Earth, D2 Shrine of the Kuo-toa and D3 Vault of the Drow. D1 and D2 were combined into a single adventure; the G series together with all three of the D series I have mentioned plus Q1 Queen of the Demonweb Pits were also combined into a single adventure - Queen of Spiders. D1 and D2 remain, to this day, an almost perfect model of an extended descent into the Underdark that finishes in a drow city. Don't let the fact that they are 1E adventures put you off; they're easily converted and there will be something of a conversion of Shrine of the Kuo-toa this month in Dungeon. |
