If you're running the game, and you want him in, he's in. Simple as that.

yes but I would like to stay with the story line. I have no problem changing my game a little. I would like to think he is FR somewhere.

Not sure why I felt compelled to look, since I subscribe to the 'screw canon' philosophy, but according to this page from an FR Wiki, he's there.

The answer is yes, Orcus and the other prominent demon lords have a history of activity on Faerun.

And he has been slayed twice on fearuns grounds.

Orcus and his necromantic cults has (or has had) some interesting opposition with the drow goddes of undead, Kiriansalee.

His wand had been stolen from him as well, not sure which adventuring company did that. King Azoun's gang, nay?

-Yes, Orcus does exist. He has a long and storied history that takes place mostly in Vaasa and Damara. Information on him can be found primarily in the Kiaransalee entry of Demihuman Deities, because the two were chief rivals, with Kiaransalee having worshipers in a Galena Mountains, The Mines of Bloodstone, and The Throne of Bloodstone.

The rivalry between Orcus and Kiaransalee is further explored and greatly expanded upon in depth in the events of the module, "Dead Gods".

I'd preface that with 'was', but whatever... ;)

Well, the nethyarch of Narfell were Orcus's half-fiendish sons, so he has to exist in FR...

Don't know about Azoun, but I know Gareth Dragonsbane and co. did. I think Kane might have done the actual wand snatching though. Kane's ing awesome and Gareth steals all of his credit.

I'd say it's up for debate if Gareth and company actually managed to snatch the actual wand, because the wind was perfectly fine when Kiaransalee hid it and Orcus/Tenebrous went hunting for it.

For purposes of meshing the two stories, I'd keep the Gareth and company wand simply that of an avatar. I'd intended to write a minor tie in to the Gareth story with the wand in Dragon magazine, but between edits and word limits it didn't happen so we're left with a bit of discontinuity.

-The same thing happened when they did battle with Tiamat. It turned out to be an avatar.
