downloadable CC3 FR map

Mar 18, 2009 18:43:59 I have just purchased Campaign Cartographer 3 and I would like to download the FR map file so I can modify it for my campaign and so I can print out player maps and many other DM type things. How can I do this?

Mar 18, 2009 20:12:10 Profantasy (The company that makes CC3) had a product that was the Forgotten Realms Atlas. It came with a TON of maps and all were linked so you could drill down or expand as needed. It also had symbols and styles, very well done product. I am not sure if they still carry it or not, have to check their site at Profantasy.com.

Short of that, I do not know of anywhere to DL FR maps. Perhaps you can e-bay or craiglist a copy of the program?

I would suggest you just bite the bullet and go down to Fedex/kinkos and have them scan the poster map that comes with the FR Campaign book into a high resolution .PNG file yourself.
Then just put it on a temporary layer as a guide. I doubt very seriously you will see a downloadable map for CC3 on these forums. Not sure if posting such a file would be a copyright violation as it is.
Besides, by doing it yourself you will get exactly what you need.

Also, if you already have the original FR Atlas you can use those maps and modify them to match what has changed in the new version of FR.

Actually, the original map of FR found in the FRCS was not made with CC3... You can bet on that.

Apr 03, 2009 0:13:55 I'd guess you're probably going to have to make the map yourself if you want it as something other than a static .png image you'll have to draw over to change. The .png might be good for tracing though if you put it on a top sheet, enable sheet effects, and make it transparent.

Apr 03, 2009 17:15:14 Thanks, tracing will work fine. Since this 4E campaign exists in a pre-GPS world, the maps should all be a little different. I am thinking I'll just keep doing it by eye trying to come close and these approximate maps will have an authentic feel to them. As I get better at using CC3 the maps will hopefully get better.
