Please forgive me. I'm still just reading parts here and there--have yet to go from front to back yet--and probably wont for some time.
Either way, I find this completely dumb. This is Dungeons and Dragons!! How the hell can dragons be scary if you can pull the jedi mind trick on them and have them go fetch you a steak? Albeit, a live one?

It was only a blurb, so we don't know if it works on all dragons, but it worked on the Dragon Empress in Abeir, and for a long time at that, so probably on all dragons. Like I said, I hope it's in the PG.

Yeah, but it's just like everything else. You introduce it as something that's not playable, but sooner or later you get everybody harpin' to play it and WotC caves.
I wouldn't mind it as an Epic Destiny thing--but at least be forced to fight a wyrm on your own a couple times before you start dealing with it like the family pet.

While yes Choosen of Mystra was a little close to the line though it depends what level we are talking about...

I have always allowed PC spellfire weilders and never had a problem with it....though seeing a Ring of Dragonfriendship in play...or the Dragon Orbs from DL and I'll tell you being able to command the toughest creature in the game freely is not even close to the powerlevel of a Choosen or Spellfire.

FR7 hall of heroes had the rules for 2e spellfire. And I had to answer a question on the boards just a few days ago about spellfire, the poster thought that it made a character unkillable.

I have never seen a spellfire wielder survive a campaign, usually they think they are the baddest of the bad, and start to do stupid things.
Should the writers ever decide to do an about face and make it a playable power they'll pull a spellfire and rebalance it so that there's no issues.
