Nope, not statted out that I have seen.

If I was to stat him, I would make him a 10th level skirmisher(Ranger). 10th level because that's what level he is in FR 5(1E).

Correct. Bruenor and Wulfgar are, without a doubt, dead, so they won't have official stats (unless WOTC or RAS decides "Hey, just for fun, let's do this.) Catti-brie and Regis are almost certainly dead as well (there's like a 95% chance).

Yes, 4E certainly is a tricky little devil. And so is 4E FR. There are things I love and wouldn't change, things I like, things I dislike, and things I hate with a passion. But overall, I like it, and happily use it, albeit with my own, numerous changes. Although funny enough, I haven't taken a look at Luruar in my game. Still need to think up some new stuff for it. The only thing I have so far is that Alustriel did not die, but simply retired so as to make way for the next generation. She's still an advisor and guardian, and a Chosen of Azuth, who took Mystra's place after her death. But that's about it for the Silver Marches. I'll leave Drizzt's fate up to RAS.

Which totaly makes sense to me they had no reason to kill him off. I could see a need to get rid of Mystra.

Ah, sorry to have confused you. Silversword has the right of it, I did house rule Azuth back into existence. Well, he never perished in my game to begin with, so maybe "back" isn't the right word, but I saved him from his 4E demise. I'm not going to let the designers tell me how to run my game (not that they're trying to; they're a nice bunch). Azuth's death, and the other deicides (save for a couple), weren't to my liking, so I ignored them. Those deities I had slain were Eilistraee (sacrificed herself to redeem the dark elves and Selvetarm), Selvetarm (slain by Lolth through Halisstra), Deep Duerra (assassinated by Abbathor during the invasion of Hammergrim), Gargauth (slaughtered by Bane with the aid of Asmodeus), Finder Wyvernspur (slain by Bhaal, who returned in my game during the Wailing Years), Mystra (slain by Cyric, just like in canon), Velsharoon (absorbed by Myrkul/Crown of Horns), Sharess (assassinated by Shar), and Ulutiu (absorbed by Auril). It should be noted, however, that Eilistraee's sacrifice in my game restored Selvetarm to life and that Velsharoon's death resulted in the return of Myrkul (by whom he had been slain).

I also had Tyr impose exile upon himself and leave, while transitioning Shiallia from deity to Archfey, and Nobanion and Lurue to Primal Spirits.

Did he also add Azuth to a Chosen's choice?

In my game, Azuth claimed six of the Seven Sisters (of whom the Simbul is his Exarch), and Elminster. I made Qilue the Exarch of Selvetarm. Khelben is resting in Arvandor, since I followed the events of Blackstaff, which took place long before the Spellplague. I shook things up regarding Exarchs and Chosen. In my game, Exarch isn't a god at all, but rather an exalted patron saint figure with a sharing of a divine being's essence. Those beings who are listed as Exarchs in the FRCG are still Intermediate, Lesser, or Demipowers. Also IMG, a Chosen focuses on one particular portfolio of a deity. So, a deity can have a Chosen for each portfolio he holds; no more, but almost always less (think of it as not putting your eggs all in one basket). The Exarch, in this regard, is more like the Chosen of old, in that he/she represents the entire doctrine of his/her deity, not just a particular aspect. The typical Exarch, however, is leaps and beyond ahead of the old-fashioned Chosen in terms of power, though new-fashioned Chosen are just as powerful as their predecessors. Hopefully this makes sense.

Yeah, RAS might not of statted him out hisself, but id still count it as pretty official. True the Redeemed Drow isnt as kick ass of an Epic Destiny compared to something like Demigod or something, but still i think it suits Drizzt. I think he looks alright aside from the house ruled to hell and back stats. How would you do em up?

Cool.:rollseyes::wink:

I am using the 4E Rules but the 1E world, thus Drizzt is a 10th level Skirmisher(Ranger), Regis is a 5th level Lurker(Rogue), Wulfgar is a 6th level Brute(Barbarian), and Bruenor is a 8th level Soldier(Fighter). Catti isnt in FR5. I would make her a 4th level Soldier(Fighter). Heroic Tier Adventuring party.

The Realms using the 4E Rules and the 1E stats would be a Heroic and Paragon Tier playground. Manshoon would be a 16th level Controller(Leader/Wizard).

Well his houseruled stuff is interesting, and to tell you the truth he needs houserules to be more to his form.

I played a 2e Drow Fighter that wielded 2 Katanas and took a DM version of Bladesinging that dealth with dual wielding and when I rolled his stats I had 18,18,18,18,17,16. The DM wouldn't of believed it if he didn't watch me roll it, although it was 4d6 drop lowest. That was my sorat version of Drizzt, but I had a very convoluted past also.

In 2nd, and I believe in 3rd Drizzt was a 16th level character. IIRC in 3rd, they gave him this:

Fighter 10/Barbarian 1/Ranger 5

2nd edition he was 16 levels straight Ranger.

personally, I think they gave him to many lvls of fighter in 3.x....

There's no real purpose to have him in the character builder, or in any campaign for that matter. He's a horrible NPC to have around, and his whole demeanor stinks. Yeah, Salvatore's stories are good, but I think he stunted Drizzt's behavior: Full of melancholy, and guilt. That's not a good NPC for characters who look up to more powerful adventurers.

Yes and no. As depressing as Drizzt can be at times, he's a good example of not letting one's abilities get to one's head. Heck, his sense of guilt, though excessive, is actually a moral safeguard. It's easy for the powerful heroes to become blinded by their own ability, and be lured down a dark path. Ironically, Drizzt is too meek for such a thing, because he never forgets the consequences of his actions and the events which unfold around him. I'm not saying he's ideal, but he's not a bad example for greenhorns and less experienced adventurers who dream of what they can accomplish through might alone.

We're playing D&D, not Star Wars. The whole point of adventuring is to gather as much wealth as possible, set a few things in your game world right, and call it a day.

Jedi are the characters that have to be humble, not a Barbarian who rampages, or the Wizard who puts people in awe of their magical might.

Except many characters do try to retain a sense of humility, such as the Paladin who seeks to protect the people in accordance with his god's will, or the Warlord who worries that he puts his own desires above the welfare of those who follow him.  So yes, Drizzt can be a fairly good example for some characters.

not all jedi choose to dipsnse with their wealth.

they all however may be so inclined to use it to aid others rather than keep it to their own ends.

I however disagree with the jedi temple part.... the jedi code has caused as many problems as it has helped, besides my jedi in my mind, stole from the temple enough credits to buy a freighter and disapeared with it, not to mention this was right before order 66.......

but anyway that is star wars and not FR, and a monk would be so inclined not to have wealth, does it stop them from gaining it anyway, no it doesnt, after all, 2 coppers to your name wont buy new monk outfits, or food, etc...

but this is not Drizzt Do'uerden either...

#33

LordManshoon

Exactly. It's all up to the individual character (read: character, not class). Not all Wizards are going to be without compassion and/or humility, caring only about displaying their might. Likewise, not all Warlords genuinely care for their subordinates. For some characters, Drizzt can be quite admirable. For others, Drizzt is a 180 from the route they want to take.

Drizzt is definately an epic level character.

But I do disagree by making him a 21 level Ranger. I own every book, and in my humble opinion, he is the classic case for a 21st Level Hybrid Fighter/Ranger with the Ritual Caster feat and the Magic Circle ritual. That would follow the books the closest. I suppose you could add the Barbarian aspect in there, but really you could just use that as fluff.

Yeah, I don't agree with that. If you've read the novels, Lolth has made sure of it that his adopted homeland was invaded. If that's not enough to convince you, go back to the original novels. His own family was under Lolth's disgrace because they were "weak enough" to have allowed a rebel drow to exist.

If Salvatore did say something alone the lines of that, he would be contradicting his own storyline.

I don't believe RAS has implied Drizzt is a Chosen of Lolth, but rather that he might have the favor of the Spider Queen, despite his good nature and rejection of her beliefs. Also, it was proposed by a single character in The Hunter's Blade trilogy, and didn't receive any real support. I seriously doubt Lolth sees him as valuable in any way, but then again she's capricious enough to enjoy him as an oddity who indirectly creates havoc.

As if people didn't have enough **** to fling his way. Let's give them an even greater reason to resent him. Not that those people's complaints mean anything...

And whose Chosen would he be? Lolth? Mielikki? ...... Ilmater?

On the chosen of lolth subject. I read the novel in question and it was some drow talking about drizzt that speculated that he may be a chosen of lolth.

Even if he was chosen, that wouldn't automatically translate into him having that ED or Paragon path or whatever it would be.

But I do agree with Drizzt being a beginner epic character in 4e, and its about time. Although in my homebrewed FR, hes a broken man, crippled during the spell plague, physically and emotionally. He's little more than a source of crazed information for my PC's. No more magical items, no more panther, a large bounty on his head. He's no longer a threat and actually under the protection of elminster, the pimpking of his own nation.

My FR is completely different, especially since its 300 years after the spell plague, to get rid of almost everything from the novels. For example, Mithrilhall is the home of vampiric dwarven undead.

Take THAT FR fans! Muahaha! (my players enjoy it, so meh)

I don't have any problems with him. We haven't had to deal with any "Drizzt clones" in our FR games. I don't think our half-Drow fighter had two-weapon style....

Who me? I don't hate drizzt at all, quite the opposite. I just wanted drizzt to be more of an information NPC than a warrior. When my players want to encounter drizzt and the others at his peak, we will do a time traveling adventure, in which case, drizzt will be epic awesome uber badass.

But it is 300 years after the spell plague and drizzt wasn't a young man. But IMG, he got sick and met his better in combat. I was going to kill him off, but I like drizzt, so I kept him in the game as a master of lore, although he is not completely sane.

Yes, perhaps i am raising the Dorkness meter, just a tad! the chosen always put me in the mind of Highlander (the movie, not actual highlanders from scottland). I used to use that in my home games, i really Highlandered out the FR, but that didnt really work out so well, as all the players didnt so much as focus on roleplaying, but in taking heads. but still i definalty see Drizzt as one of the chosen, even if the FRCG says there are no chosen left, then why is there a chosen ED? got to be some chosen out there some where! I would definatly make Drizzt a chosen of Mielikki.

IMG, the drow and the dwarves have been at war for a long, long time. The drow finally unleashed undead in mithril hall, the dwarves fought for a long time, sealing the lower sections, but the undead found ways through. Soon, most of the remaining, living dwarves fled. Those that remain are all undead of different types and is now one of the most feared and hated areas in my FR.

Also one of the reasons Drizzt initially got seriously injured. Nearly became undead himself.

Although, the undead turned on the drow, and now the drow face the same threat and fate as the dwarves. Lolth is pleased. Although Moradin's sorrow nearly drowned the western areas as it rained for 4 years straight. Now his anger is focused and razorsharp and the surviving dwarves are machines of war, bent of the destruction of ALL drow.

My FR is a giant warzone with very few places of peace. Elminsters nation is about the only safe place left, but hes nothing like in the novels. He's pissed.

I dont know man that sounds like a violation of the TOS. Couldnt you just redownload the Character Builder? Or when you update it wont Drizzt pop back up? Also its been stated that the Drizzt in the CB is not canon so just make it up how you want Drizzt to be. But any way see post #34 i posted his summary there, most of it any way, not the powers and everything but that should be easy enough to choose.

You just made me realize why i like and have always liked Drizzt, after all these years of not being entirely sure why i loved the character so much: He is too good to be believable. He carries the weight of the whole world on his shoulders even though he knows he doesn't have to, and that burden and guilt colors his every action. Hes very much like another hero whom i love in that respect: Spider-Man. Peter Parker is driven by his one simple creed: With Great Power comes Great Responsibility'.

Now i wanna do a fanfic where Drizzt and Spider-Man meet. The two would get along famously i think, and spidey could help Drizzt learn to lighten up a bit.

Spider-Man is in his mid-30's in current Marvel 616 continuity, so hes no kid. As for the spider symbol on his costume, there was a big plot arc a while back revealing that Spider-Man is actually the holder and avatar of the Marvel U's spider totem. There are many other totems too - The Panther Totem is of course the Black Panther, and some obscure silverback gorilla-themed character is the Ape totem (he got killed in the recent Black Panther arc involving all the totems getting hunted down)

Now back on topic - As is typical in superhero stories, they would certainly have a really cool fight when they first met due to the misunderstanding. And equally typically, they would realize they were both goodguys, unite to kick the bejeezus out of the combined forces of thier enemies, and part ways back to thier own worlds afterwards.

Ironic though that the one hero who could probably relate to Drizzt is spider-themed and the carrier of the spider totem. heh.

Ugh! did you have to bring Spider-Mantm into this?

Still i would probably read a team up story with him and Drizzt, as long as they fight each other. Thats like the first rule of comic book team ups, they got to fight each other first, then team up against a common foe. So would they team up in the Marvel Universe or in the D&D one. Drizzt in New York would be amusing, as would Spidey in FR.

And personally i think the Punisher and Drizzt would make for a better team up.

I  would like to add that the only real downside of Star Wars from my point of view is that it actually is a pretty white and black universe, but the truth is a little more complex and then again it's even much easier at the same time. A while ago I watched a film in television about two german soldiers who had to fight in WW2. They deserted and tried to get their hold on treasure the SS had stolen. They did act "selfish", they didn't think about anybody else, but what they did was actually the best thing they could have done in this situation for everybody on this planet including themselfs. They left the war behind themselfs and by doing what they tried to do no one had to die anymore, at least not through their hands. And to steal a fortune from the SS doesn't qualify to be a real crime in my mind. Another example would be the Sergio Leone italo western "The good, the bad & the ugly". They ride to this graveyard on which a treasure is supposed to be buried. On their way there they come to this bridge, on one side union troops and on the other side confederate troops, and the only reason both sides engage in combat at this place is this damn bridge. Neither side sees any sense in the battle since the bridge is very far off the real frontlines, its a pointless waste of life but they stay and fight since they have orders. For a reason I can not recall the "blonde" (played by Clint Eastwood) decides to destroy the bridge to have the troops withdraw from this location to leave his small party alone in the area around the graveyard. When the brdige explodes in a blaze of glory both sides cheer since no-one has to die in vain anymore. Not a single person cares about what the doers intend has been, might it have been a selfish one or not who cares, no-one has to die anymore since the bridge is gone. I woudl claim that in real life too only deeds count and not intentions. Sometimes you just become a hero for stopping to do the wrong things, sometimes you become one for doing the wrong thing at the right time and sometimes you become one for doing the right thing for the wrong reason.
