| #1Mr_MiscellanyMay 06, 2012 11:32:18 | Just finished reading Ed Greenwood’s Eye on the Realms: The Storm Bird this morning and already my mind is swimming with ideas. First off, I loved the artwork. There was only one piece of art (by Noah Bradley -- WotC, please use him again!) but by itself it's enough. It's one of those pieces where, as a DM, I want to use it right away in my campaign. You don't need a wall of descriptive text to read to your players when you can just show them artwork like this. Check the link to see for yourself. It's an awesome piece. Concept of the article aside, if you're a Waterdeep Realmslore junky, this article will give you a quick fix in the form of brand new information on shops, people (noble and commoner), business dealings and culture in modern-day Waterdeep. A new broadsheet is mentioned, gossip abounds, people are hauled off into the sky by night and at least one widow has turned her home into a fortress as a result. This article makes me want to use Illithid Body Tamers as crewmen aboard that ship. Good stuff. |
