| #1CdrcJsnApr 03, 2009 14:24:50 | I know, strange post. But I have an RPG webcomic, and for some reason the topic of Elminster's underwear and what enchantments he had on it came up. I distinctly recall reading it in one of my many FR supplements, but I tried looking and I can't seem to find it now. I know it had lots of enchantments on it (at least I seem to recall that). Anyone know? |
| #2sallaApr 03, 2009 14:28:35 | Depends. (Cue response: "Depends on what?") No, just ... Depends. |

| #4thinbladeApr 03, 2009 16:46:21 | I think you might be confusing them with Storm's Garter, which is a properly written-out magical item found in the 2e product The Seven Sisters. The only place I know where El's undergarments show their stuff is either Cloak of Shadows or All Shadows Fled. I don't remember which book the scene is in, but El's fighting a Thayan super-golem. He gets teleported into mid=air by Ao, and uses his undergarments to fly. Considering that the text specifically mentions them "tugging him this way," and considering how much actors who spend time in harnesses for flying/jumping stunts complain it hurts, it couldn't have been a very pleasant way to fly... |

| #6markustay_dupApr 03, 2009 22:04:43 | More like Protection from Skid-marks. :D I think - and I'm serious - it was mentioned somewhere once that he also had a 'gate' in his underwear... so that he didn't have to... ermm... stop and... errr... do his business. ![]() Which makes me wonder where, exactly, is the other end of that portal in El's small clothes? ![]() |

| #17faraerApr 05, 2009 17:41:47 | Elminster generally wears a clout, as seen in Shadows of Doom. That guy gets more play than Kid Rock. For the benefit of any who aren't aware, the 'lustful goat' act is a pose Elminster adopts, not his actual nature. |
| #18lord_karsusApr 05, 2009 18:03:18 | For the benefit of any who aren't aware, the 'lustful goat' act is a pose Elminster adopts, not his actual nature. -Right...Elminster is really interested in men. All of those women who find their way into his bed, Elminster's willing to "take the hit" for Mystra, and do what he needs to do. Elminster is really into the quiet, smart, librarian types (ie, Lhaeo). ![]() |

| #24iliyanApr 06, 2009 13:29:10 | a) Modified "Bag of Devouring" b) Permanent "Prestidigitation" to keep em clean. c) Permanent "Magic Hand" for when life is treating you bad... ;) d) Permanent "Zone of Fresh Air"( yeye its old, but works wonders!) :P Think thats about it ![]() |
| #25markustay63Apr 06, 2009 16:16:52 | Rather then Prestidigitation, might I suggest two cantrips? Clean and [i]Freshen[i]? I also think his Underwear should be sentient - an awakened artifact. Probably someone who's soul Elminster wanted to trap in that unholy purgatory (like Sammaster). Hey! Maybe it's an Undead Vizier's Turbin! (slightly modified, with holes cut-in) |
| #26zaeshirApr 07, 2009 10:58:35 | Rather the Prestidigitation, mght I suggest two cantrips? Clean and [i]Freshen[i]? Ewww...that'd be the worst fate ever. Soul trapped in a pair of an old guy's underwear? Lol, this thread keeps getting better and better. |
| #27suin_bahhar_02Apr 07, 2009 12:27:42 | So it has to be a cleaning cantrip, so Elminster does not have to change his undies... ever. Might be its his most affectionate piece of wardrobe, and it allows him to center his insane self better (like a long lived lich and its ragged undies). |
| #28markustay63Apr 07, 2009 15:26:06 | His mother gave them to him... like Superman's baby blanket (which he somehow turned into a costume). They probably have little duckies and bunnies on them... or Griffons and Unicorns.. Anyhow, after his parent's death, he vowed never to part with them, so he enchanted them, and now they 'enchant' others. :D |
| #29one_who_knowsApr 09, 2009 15:26:33 | How is it you talk of under garments? I not understand who magic thing would have. |

| #36lord_karsusApr 15, 2009 0:00:52 | Not really... he has how many kids again? -Too many, to the point that there was that scene at the end of Elminster's Daughter (that I thought was horrendous). |
| #37markustay63Apr 15, 2009 23:29:09 | Yes - since a thousand years and MUCH fornication means that just about everyone is related to him, he's even more of a 'lech' then most of us realize. | #53lord_karsusMay 12, 2009 16:23:10 | 1. Is that a book or a campaign setting? -Shadows of Doom, the first book in the Shadows of the Avatar trilogy. 2. (And this relates to the 1st question) Are you serious, there was actually an event that required El's underoo's? -As was mentioned by Thinblade, "I don't remember which book the scene is in, but El's fighting a Thayan super-golem. He gets teleported into mid=air by Ao, and uses his undergarments to fly. Considering that the text specifically mentions them "tugging him this way," and considering how much actors who spend time in harnesses for flying/jumping stunts complain it hurts, it couldn't have been a very pleasant way to fly..." |
| #54TheriseMay 12, 2009 16:27:44 | Gives new meaning to "flying by the seat of your pants". If El's flying around awkwardly, just don't look up as he passes directly overhead. |

| #56TheriseMay 12, 2009 21:11:47 | So...wonder what Elminster is like when wearing a speedo? My guess would be "snug". |
| #57lord_karsusMay 12, 2009 21:51:05 | -It is humorous when people read (and this mainly, I have found, happens in fantasy) literature that uses the term 'thong' as in sandals, and mistake it for the type of underwear. -In something I wrote a while ago, I mentioned the character putting on leather sandals, and (the file has long since been deleted) wrote the line something like, "Walking away from the window with a sigh, he deliberately flipped his leather thongs over his feet, as he prepared to leave the room", or something like that. One of the critiques that I got from one of my classmates (it was an English project) was someone saying that leather isn't the best type of material for underwear like that, and that was kinky. I found it funny, and I am sure that if I had any shred of popularity in school, it would have disappeared right there. It's hard to go past "weird person who might shoot up the school", though, so it all went in stride, I guess. |
| #58rovinMay 14, 2009 14:27:09 | This thread amazes me in so many ways. But we all know real wizards go commando, right? |
| #59markustay63May 14, 2009 15:01:39 | Well, 'going commando' does seem to fit Elminster's character, in more ways then one. :D He was also known to wear a magical garter and fishnets while he was Elmara. :P -"Walking away from the window with a sigh, he deliberately flipped his leather thongs over his feet, as he prepared to leave the room", or something like that. Reminds me of an old joke. Jimmy: Teacher, what does it mean when the story says "Robin Hood tore his leather"? Teacher: Hmmmm... good question Jimmy. Maybe we need to read the whole sentence to understand the context? Jimmy: Okay, it says "Robin Hood tore his leather jerkin off". |
| #60lord_karsusMay 14, 2009 17:23:44 | -Heh. |
| #61The_High_BlademageMay 14, 2009 17:34:27 | The last thing I was expecting form an official web site was a conversation 'bout Elminsters pants. Cool. About the Pant's Gate I know now how the Far Realm came into existance. Since his pipe is considered to be a mighty artifact, his undergarment are propably epic, inteligent, magic items, infused with divine essence.:D Elminster is the funniest and coolest character I've ever known. Calm, funny and joyfull 'til the end, "the man". In Realms 4e I thing I read that simbul is still alive and lives in shadowdale too. Might this be the reason why elminster stoped adventuring???? What does he do the last 100 jears "alone" in his tower (or mill/dont remember). Do you know what happend to the other 7 sisters? I'm afraid they are unconsious, due to the phenomenon called Elminster, and will continue to be for an other 20 years.;) -He reminds me master Roshy from Dragonball (for those who watched the series). |

Since you are able to see her 'goodies' through holes in her attire, one can assume that she wore no undergarments (or that they were just as worm-eaten as the rest... which is just plain gross when you think about it). |

"Vorpal" has traditionally been taken to mean "decapitating" (in D&D at least) per the original use of the (made-up) word by Lewis Carroll in Jabberwocky.
"(...)One, two! One, two! and through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back.(...)"
|
| #110markustay63May 23, 2009 10:50:30 | And hast though slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! Oh kaloo, Kalay! Oh frabjuous day! He chortled in his joy. I happen to have that one memorized.... :D As an aside, I believe LK was referring to the 'Doris day' comment, but I could be wrong.... |
| #111lord_karsusMay 23, 2009 11:52:25 | Actually I posted the question over there. Though I was just asking Ed what magical properties El's undergarments have. I don't know how silk panties got involved. -A ha! So, you're the deviant...Makes sense...:P ;) As an aside, I believe LK was referring to the 'Doris day' comment, but I could be wrong.... -Right. I know who Doris Day is, but I don't understand how the Luminous One brought her up. |
| #112StiggerMay 23, 2009 13:16:54 | Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps... is the end of a verse to one of her more annoying songs, the name of which is currently unavailable to my fatigued brain. |
| #113TheriseMay 23, 2009 17:29:27 | Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps... is the end of a verse to one of her more annoying songs, the name of which is currently unavailable to my fatigued brain. Haha! I missed what LK was referring to, lol. If you really love Ed, say 'Yes!' rather than 'perhaps': To the tune of Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps by Doris Day.
You won't admit you love Ed And so how are we ever to know You always tell him Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps A million times I've asked you And then I ask you over again You only answer Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps If you can't make your mind up We'll never get started And I don't wanna wind up Being 4E, broken-Realmsy So if you really love Ed say 'yes!' But if you don't dear, confess And please don't tell him Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps If you can't make your mind up We'll never get started And I don't wanna wind up Being 4E, broken-Realmsy So if you really love him say 'yes!' But if you don't dear, confess And please don't tell him Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps Perhaps - perhaps - perhaps
All in fun, peeps, all in fun! |
| #114JudgeDookieMay 24, 2009 0:56:19 | I can vaguely recall thinking I was a chicken once, but the circumstances of that were thankfully very temporary, and never repeated. :D Cause you were slathered in BBQ sauce and eaten by a fat woman? ![]() -It means that, since Elminster is Ed Greenwood's persona projected onto paper, Ed Greenwood secretly wishes that he is a woman. That's the only thing that it could all mean. The only thing. Ed's never hid the fact that he wants to be a chick. Look at his primary collection of characters. Other than El' (and his feminine panties) it's all about the females. Haha! I missed what LK was referring to, lol. Well, you'll never be on American Idol. ![]() |
| #115StiggerMay 24, 2009 8:54:50 | No, the girl I was dating at the time was hardly fat... a little on the thin, though still curvaceous and utterly feminine, side actually, but her habits did that to people. And yes, thank you for bringing up that horrible memory of that song for me Therise, your level of evil has risen in my esteem. Well done you. |
| #116TheriseMay 24, 2009 11:53:14 | And yes, thank you for bringing up that horrible memory of that song for me Therise, you're level of evil has risen in my esteem. Well done you. It's me job! ![]() Well, you'll never be on American Idol. Thank goodness! |
| #117redglacierMay 24, 2009 16:08:47 | To the tune of Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps by Doris Day. I prefer the cover Cake did, myself. |
| #118JudgeDookieMay 25, 2009 0:15:40 | No, the girl I was dating at the time was hardly fat... a little on the thin, though still curvaceous and utterly feminine, side actually, but her habits did that to people. So...her habit's were...oh, wait. Vegetarian, huh? Thin, little, curvaceous vegetarians. Always turning you on, but never taking the meat. ![]() Thank goodness! Since we are talking turn on's and underwear here, can I share your photo's with the rest of the boys? I think a glimpse of your perky eyes would stop all discussion of El's skid streaks. :D |
| #119markustay63May 25, 2009 8:49:13 | I'd much prefer to talk about the Simbul's crotchless panties (of feminine protection +5). Although... if Therise would like to share with the class.... :P |
| #120StiggerMay 25, 2009 10:51:20 | I don't care much for vegetarians, much less vegans. At least not the ones who preach about it... we have flesh rending teeth for a good biological reason. |
| #121markustay63May 25, 2009 11:14:34 | Vegans smell funny. Gimmee a woman who enjoys her protein straight-up any day. :D |
| #122TheriseMay 25, 2009 11:16:21 | I prefer the cover Cake did, myself. Heh, that's funny! :D Since we are talking turn on's and underwear here, can I share your photo's with the rest of the boys? I think a glimpse of your perky eyes would stop all discussion of El's skid streaks. I'm pretty sure people would rather stay on topic, though I'm not exactly sure what that means. |

| #127StiggerMay 25, 2009 23:33:41 | Iron Rod equipped chastity belt is my vote for Khelben... |
| #128ArtifactMay 25, 2009 23:51:44 | "Theorizing that one could travel within his own lifetime, Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator, and vanished." When he 'leaps' into someone's life in the past, he's always wearing their clothes . . . dirty underwear and all, I would assume. Figured this was as appropriate here as anywhere else ;). |

Around here? You been sniffing that gnomish mushroom adhesive again? :P Fresh oiled leather. You’d know her from Exit to Eden if you saw her face. She’s obsessed with leather. ![]() In my Realms, the Simbul goes commando! Thus it opens up that "spell slot" for something else. ;) After a 14 hour day at the office, I truly find that humorous. Thank you. ![]() I thought that slot counted the same as a ring. :P I thought men wore the rings? ![]() So lets talk about Khelben now... Boxers, or Briefs? If anyone goes commando, it would be he—the Blackstaff. Got it yet? Duh. ![]() |
| #131drizztsmanchildMay 26, 2009 2:24:40 | Well Khelben was into everything elven so.....Corellon's panties of androgyny? |
| #132StiggerMay 26, 2009 8:43:30 | You know, I was watching Quantum Leap on DVD the other night... that comment just put an entirely different spin on things... |
| #133rovinMay 26, 2009 19:30:02 | Somewhat on-topic, I was reading through the 1993 FR box set (thank you, garage sale) when what to my wondering eyes should appear but Ed Greenwood's word on King Azoun's underwear color preferences. Blue or red, and a purple codpiece. Gives that "Purple Dragon" paragon path a whole new meaning, it does. |

| #139StiggerMay 28, 2009 7:17:44 | lol, probably true. :D |
| #140JudgeDookieMay 28, 2009 17:54:02 | Well, some of us are very serious about this. I mean, underwear is important in human life, regardless of setting. ![]() |
| #141StiggerMay 29, 2009 10:34:42 | Only in terms of how my wife's look discarded on my floor as far as I'm concerned... :P |
| #142markustay63May 29, 2009 10:41:19 | I kind prefer them around the knees... or ankles... much more... artistic... that way. ;) Anyhow, this all just reminded me a cantrip I created awhile back. Basically, it 'offsets' a gas emission from the caster's body, and can 'send it' to anywhere within a 100' of the caster (both sound and odor are transported). Which is great fun at parties. :D Also useful in elevators. ![]() Anyhow, no pair of magical undies would be complete without that one. |
| #143JudgeDookieMay 29, 2009 11:58:19 | However, not so useful when needed. How can you plan a burrito attack in the middle of a battle? ![]() BTW, do you have one for odor in general? Some pancake is cooking liver across the way and it's stinkin' up my apartment. ![]() |
| #144markustay63May 29, 2009 12:18:50 | Well, I had thought of that as well - its a bit of a contingency affect. You cast-it when you start to get that 'funny feeling', and it kicks-in once the moment is right (and transfer the offensive smell and noise either randomlly to someone else within range, or at the caster's discretion at the time of casting). It has only a five minute duration, so you had better "belt one out" within that time, otherwise the spell is wasted. Young scoundral nobles of Waterdeep have had great fun with this spell (which they have had placed in rings and such) as a party-gag, and have been known to eat large quantities of Curried Calishite Cave-Rothe with Luiren Fire-peppers, to just to insure maximum potency. :D As for the liver thing... just Eeeewww... ![]() |
| #145sier_labeguileuse_dupMay 29, 2009 17:22:53 | Vegans smell funny. Hella yes. Crazy girls and their vegan nonsense. Eating pork is what separates man from the animals. |
| #146sier_labeguileuse_dupMay 29, 2009 17:57:30 | So this raises interesting questions about new magical underwear, or possibly clothing in general? Homebrew idea time? |

| #255Nai_CalusOct 27, 2009 7:33:29 | Khelben used to wear plain boxers, but now he wears boxers with little pink hearts and Mystra naked on them, after that time he made the mistake of letting Danilo do his laundry... |
| #256sfdragonOct 27, 2009 14:21:46 | by the seven, thats just raunchy.....

Now we just need a binding ritual to keep them here. |
| #263JudgeDookieOct 27, 2009 23:48:08 |
Well, I'm glad we are being so upfront and honest, Mr. Nai Nai. Remind me to put a flaming bag dogshiit on your porch and laugh at you profusely when you stomp on it.
Are you insane or just stupid? Don't you know 18D is lurking around here someplace?
Sweet Bejebuz--she was so hot.
Hush. 'Les I report you. |
| #264sfdragonOct 27, 2009 23:51:41 | can I report everyone for reporting everyone? |
| #265JudgeDookieOct 28, 2009 0:13:30 |
Please do. Though, remember that I have never reported anyone myself. I just get pissed off, say nasty things to them, then get banned. |
| #266sfdragonOct 28, 2009 0:17:44 | well I never reported anyone either.... well here anyway |
| #267JudgeDookieOct 28, 2009 0:33:16 | I would hope not--'cause you are just one smiley away from getting banned, buddy.
|
| #268sfdragonOct 28, 2009 0:34:29 |
|
| #269JudgeDookieOct 28, 2009 0:41:16 | That was a pretty negative smiley, my man--maybe I should report you. Ya know, negativity around here is banned.
|
| #270sfdragonOct 28, 2009 0:49:48 |
and yours is pretty offensive, maybe I should report you. Ya know being offensive around here isnt tollerated either.
neither is the spam.
|
| #271JudgeDookieOct 28, 2009 1:29:56 | Excuse me? Would you elaborate on that comment? |
| #272sfdragonOct 28, 2009 1:41:05 | no, would you yours? |
| #273JudgeDookieOct 28, 2009 17:09:08 | I thought my sarcasm was rather drippy. Guess I need to brush up on my ill mannerism's. |

Heh nice to see you all (but y'know, JD)! The goverment computer I use don let me in Wizards. until i get a pc of my own Im F*cked. |

| #278JudgeDookieOct 28, 2009 19:51:00 |
So sad. We were such Aasimaar buddies at one time. Whatever happened?! |
| #279ody_saraph_of_karsusOct 28, 2009 21:40:01 |
I'm in the military so is more for secuity reasons han anything else I'm sure. And well JD, is dificult to maintain a frienship w some one that gets banned every three post. Still you and me are the last Aasimars since u know ... 4E... |
| #280JudgeDookieOct 28, 2009 22:00:04 |
It's every 12 -18 posts, by my count. Besides, do you know how hard it is to maintain a friendship with an army geek with no PC? I mean, all this time, I felt like you had abandoned me. |
| #28118DELTAOct 29, 2009 0:32:19 |
The only time you work is during 'Robin Sage'. |
| #282ody_saraph_of_karsusNov 01, 2009 9:53:06 |
No more. its done by civilians now. Crazy I know, but after 8(!!!!) times I'm good lol. Btw Im going to Korea in march |
| #283Nai_CalusNov 01, 2009 10:36:52 | Enjoy your skinny stainless steel chopsticks. Though that was the Navy, my dad was on one of their ships at one point, and apparently they had these really skinny stainless steel chopsticks that were almost impossible to use. |
| #284darth_k-travaNov 01, 2009 19:45:20 |
Probably needed Epic level Dex score and Epic Skill: Stainless Steel Chopsticks to use effectively. Maybe I should ask a friend of mine, who was in the Navy, if he ever encountered them when he was near SE Asia.... |
| #28518DELTANov 01, 2009 23:39:12 |
Korea. Sucks to be you... For those of you that don't know, I did two tours in Korea. Ody do you know where you are going, or will that be the big-surprize. I bet you will go to the 2ID Turtle Farm... |
| #286JudgeDookieNov 02, 2009 18:09:56 | My pops was stationed there durin' Vietnam--and agrees with your sentiments. |
| #28718DELTANov 02, 2009 23:40:08 | Better Korea, than Nam... |
| #288sfdragonNov 03, 2009 0:09:49 | Nam sux....
goooood by Viet nam |
| #289darth_k-travaNov 03, 2009 17:04:34 | LOL. Thank you, Robin Williams.... I'd rather go to Japan if I was in that neck of the woods or Hong Kong. That way get all the nifty Japanese stuff or to get the cheap imitation stuff and bring it all back! |
| #290JudgeDookieNov 03, 2009 23:55:38 |
Well, according to my best bud--a Marine--Japan sux, too. But I am sure that both Korea and Nam are worse. |
| #291darth_k-travaNov 04, 2009 13:33:40 |
A friend of mine, who was Navy, liked Japan. Except for getting lost one time and ended up AWOL because he missed the bus back to base. He snuck a 2ft Godzilla figure onto the ship for awhile until he got busted and had to ship it home. lol
|
| #292Doombringer_of_HoarNov 09, 2009 3:37:37 | So was it ever determined what kind of (if any) underwear Elminster wears? |
| #29318DELTANov 09, 2009 8:05:49 | Covered in NDA amongst other things... |
| #294The_SilverswordNov 09, 2009 8:47:41 |
LOL! oh wait, youre not joking are you? |
| #295sfdragonNov 09, 2009 14:00:19 | he wears boxers with nude images of mystra on them..... |
| #296LordManshoonNov 09, 2009 14:01:30 | Or does he? ...And yes, this reply was only made so I could claim Post #300. Carry on. |
| #297sfdragonNov 09, 2009 14:43:25 | may be, maybe not
#301 carry on |
| #298The_SilverswordNov 09, 2009 18:22:35 | Wasnt there an Elminster's 4e Stats thread around here some where? Ive been thinking on this and in 4e Elminster would totally be a Bard, now before im lynched again let me explain my reasoning. Elminsters been a little of everything. Hes been a Fighter, a Rogue, probably some Cleric in there too, I mean the guys done it all, so the Multi-Class versatility would really suit El, also Els encyclopedic knowledege of the Realms has bardic knowledge written all over it, aside from the fact that hes over a 1000 years old. So I could definatly see Elminster as a Bard, heavily, heavily, Multiclassed into wizard, among other things. |
| #299JudgeDookieNov 09, 2009 22:06:55 | Elminster would have (almost--if not equivalent) the exact same stats he has in 3e. He would not be a bard. Besides, it's a moot point. El' is insane with conflicting personalities. He's not much good for **** these days. |
| #30018DELTANov 09, 2009 22:40:23 | Thats why he must DIE!!!!!!!! |
| #301JudgeDookieNov 09, 2009 23:54:19 | Two points there, ya numbnut--which you speaking of? |
| #302The_SilverswordNov 09, 2009 23:55:19 | Well we all know hes not going to die, I just hope they dont do something equaly as stupid, like turning him into a god. |
| #303JudgeDookieNov 10, 2009 0:34:10 |
Nope if he does anything, he will unleash the seven sisters. |
| #304The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 0:45:45 |
Well the only one left is the Simbul, and possibly Storm and/or Dove. |
| #305StiggerNov 10, 2009 0:53:51 | Keep in mind, they have faked their own deaths before... and even if you do see a corpse, that's not necessarily saying much where a previous edition spellcaster is concerned. Its not that different from comic books really, and you could chalk the Spellplague up there with the Infinite Crisis and its ilk... who knows what weirdness it spawned and who saw what coming and took what precautions with gods only know what contingencies... maybe Mystra hasn't respawned because she never really died and is just biding her time, waiting for the right moment to strike... |
| #306The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 0:57:45 | Right. Mystra did put alot of herself into her Chosen, so I guess as long as just one of them lives, then a piece of Mystra lives on. What about the Magister? Is there one in 4e? as it ever been said or said that there wasnt one? |
| #307sfdragonNov 10, 2009 1:16:29 | no magister in FR.
there is a magister epic destiny in the arcane power splat book |
| #308The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 1:23:37 |
Ah so there could be a Magister in the 4e Realms, just not one tied to Mystra. |
| #309sfdragonNov 10, 2009 1:34:57 |
no.
there can be multiple MAgisters in the Realms just not tied to mystra or her memory.
mystra's bloody bones and shar's bloody backside |
| #310The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 1:40:14 | Multiple Magisters? that doesnt sound like much fun. I also liked it better when there could only be so many of an x level Druid. Ahhh those were the days. |
| #311sfdragonNov 10, 2009 1:41:45 | not really, you see magisters end up in teh feywild..... and.... there are likly more archmages than magisters |
| #312The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 1:46:05 | I think its funny that they say that there are no Chosen left in the Realms but they have a Chosen Epic Destiny. Go figure. |
| #313sfdragonNov 10, 2009 1:47:42 | yeah but we have two versions of that epic destiny, one if the frpg and the divine power which made it require divine power to use...... which blows major shar bits and I'll just use the one in the frpg as it is supperior in every way than the one in the DP splat.... |
| #314The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 1:51:04 |
Yeah now that is stupid. They should of called the one in Divine Power something else. Thats just too confusing having two Epic Destinies with the same name, Unless the one in Divine Power was meant to replace the one in the FRPG? That would blow Shar bits indeed! |
| #315sfdragonNov 10, 2009 2:09:28 | yes, yes it does, and I get the feeling that it is supposed to, or someone just goofed. I dont use that one so....
Blows Shar bits..... hahahahahahahaha cant believe I came up with that |
| #316The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 2:24:15 |
Thats going to be your new catch phrase isnt it? |
| #317sfdragonNov 10, 2009 2:41:01 | no..... how about *************???
okay I better quite now, I treading on JD's territory. |
| #318The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 4:53:43 | Nah, dookie likes them 4 lettered words. I dont even know what ************* means? youll have to pm that one to me, Im curious to know. |
| #319Nai_CalusNov 10, 2009 4:59:41 | How is the FR one better when the one in DP is exactly the same except for the powers for the various gods, which unsurprisingly vary? (And stealth errata the FR version in one case, what with the DP version of the Chosen utility power for Corellon actually being a useful power on par with the others that applies to situations that actually exist, unlike the inexcusably god-awful one in FRPG.) *shakes head, goes away again* (Yeah I've pretty much left the boards at this point due to a certain something I won't name, I barely check them now, so if you don't see me around except for the occasional snarky comment when I felt like seeing if anything actually interesting that wasn't ruined by you-know-what had happened, you know why.) |
| #320The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 5:10:23 | I think the one in the FR is better because you dont have to be a Divine character, so if Tempus wanted a Fighter as his chosen he could, which makes more sense to me, rather than having a fighter have to multiclass into a divine class that he will probably never use other than to get the Chosen ED. I havnt compared the powers or nothing so I dont know about that, but I see no reason why you couldnt switch them out. And dont you dare leave us Nai. Its getting far too quiet around here as of late, we cant afford to lose you too. |
| #321StiggerNov 10, 2009 8:00:40 | No idea what brought that on... hopefully, I had something to do with it, as I'm evil and stuff like that makes my legend grow... except where elves are concerned, then I'm mostly goodly compared to their vileness. |
| #32218DELTANov 10, 2009 8:48:37 | Is it because of me...or JD. I need to learn more about Curellon...and Nai was to teach me... Is this typical Elven behavior? To leave in my moment of need? |
| #323JudgeDookieNov 10, 2009 10:07:19 |
The other Seven Sisters were absorbed by El'. How many times do I have to explain this!!! |
| #324JudgeDookieNov 10, 2009 10:14:54 |
My territory is fun--come share!!
I'll assume me. A "certain something" implies of a noun, which seems to fit a Dookie. Oh well. |
| #325JudgeDookieNov 10, 2009 10:17:02 | This isn't like being drunk and using make-up rules to deny an incident, lady. |
| #326JudgeDookieNov 10, 2009 11:15:31 | It's Elminsters Underwear we are speaking of. Picturing Calisto waving her underwear around just get me all hot and bothered. |
| #32718DELTANov 10, 2009 14:29:53 | Elminster's Underwear gets you all hot and bothered? You are one sick ****... |
| #328sfdragonNov 10, 2009 14:32:49 | FACEPALM in all caps |
| #329JudgeDookieNov 10, 2009 14:40:09 |
Granted...the guy is pretty sexy. You know, in a Sean Connery sort of way. But, no. The subject of the sentence was Callisto--not El'. |
| #330sfdragonNov 10, 2009 14:45:34 | this thread got me thinking about this www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzUfmh3G9AE&feat... and this one too www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgeI0NeOjhI&feat...
calisto was hot so was Gabrielle er however the name was spelled |

What the hell do they have to do with anything? And, yes, Callisto was SO much hotter than Gabrielle. |
| #335The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 17:51:58 |
At least one more time. Its my understanding that Mystras power they weild is absorbed by Toril once they die. Although if Elminster absorbed them then maybe they are some of the voices in his head. Im thinking the voices in his head are his Faithful, because Els the god of magic now, he just dont know it yet. I hope thats not were they go with it, but I have my suspicions. And I still think Elminsters a Bard, and Volo and Elminster are one and the same. |
| #336darth_k-travaNov 10, 2009 18:33:53 | Sounds like as good a theory as any... Not that I have any of my own. |
| #337LordManshoonNov 10, 2009 19:37:58 |
As in it's absorbed by the planet itself and generated into some sort of creation energy? Interesting. I'd think that some other deity/higher entity/very powerful mortal might snatch up the glimmers of divine energy, or that Ao would absorb simply to remove it from play. But, the planet itself absorbing it is interesting.
Although if Elminster absorbed them then maybe they are some of the voices in his head. Im thinking the voices in his head are his Faithful, because Els the god of magic now, he just dont know it yet. I hope thats not were they go with it, but I have my suspicions. It certainly does seem like a safety net, if they ever decided to use the "El becomes God" hook in the future. And I still think Elminsters a Bard, and Volo and Elminster are one and the same. El has several useless levels in Fighter, Cleric, and Rogue. He probably has levels in other classes, too. Hmmm... El with levels in Avenger and Druid. Fun. |
| #338JudgeDookieNov 10, 2009 20:38:32 |
Yes.
No.
No again and quite likely.
Normally, it would have returned to Mystra--i.e., The Weave. Now that Mystra has been snuffed and, therefore, The Weave, it would return to whatever constitutes the source of all magic at this point. |
| #339The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 20:47:20 |
Ed goes into some detail in the Shadows of the Avatar seris about what happens to the power they weild, It is absorbed into the life essence of Toril, then it is very slowly reabsorbed by Mystra, of course now that Mystra is offed, whos to say where it goes? It might very well of went to Elminster. I cant wait for Elminster Must Die comes out, the more we discuss topics such as this, the more I want to read that book! |
| #340JudgeDookieNov 10, 2009 20:58:32 | Indeed. Though, I don't see another El' book coming out anytime soon unless it is set in the past. One of the points of 4e was to make him as harmless as possible. I can dig your point about him being the god of magic without knowing it, but faithful being the voices in his head isn't the case. But, being Mystryl's original Chosen, I can see him easily taking control of the portfolio after some certain requirement is meant. I just see that being absorbing the essence of the Seven Sisters. |
| #341The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 21:04:31 | Well as I understand Elminster Must Die will be coming out sometime next year, and Ed promises it will fill in some gaps and answer alot of questions (probably raising more in the process). Im not sure what time period the book is set in. Its my understanding that it will be in Moderen Day Realms, but I expect alot of flashbacks in there. It might take place shortly after the Spellplauge, Im not sure. |
| #342JudgeDookieNov 10, 2009 21:26:43 | I guess this is what I get for abandoning this place for so long. A modern day El' tale? Hell, I thought you were joking about that title. If Ed is writing it and behind the plot, then there is certainly a reason for him to die--good or ill. Yes, I look forward to that one as well. |
| #343The_SilverswordNov 10, 2009 21:33:43 |
Well dont hold me on the modern day thing, Im guessing. It might indeed be in the past, but I think it relates to Els current predicament. I know theres no way WotC will let Ed actually kill El off, Im anxiously waiting to see how it goes down. |
| #344JudgeDookieNov 10, 2009 22:07:57 | As far as I was aware, anything Ed was to write was to be set in the past. One of the reason's he was so against 4e. Presumably, part of the reason he has such resentment with all these NDA's as well. |
| #345StiggerNov 11, 2009 0:35:39 |
Ah Emilie Autumn... does a great live show. No idea who the hell that chick there is though. I suspect from some television show I never watched... |
| #346StiggerNov 11, 2009 0:39:07 | So... reading over these last few posts, if the magical energy of the Chosen were absorbed by the "lifeforce of the planet", wouldn't that imply Chauntea, given that she's supposedly the personification of the planet as I recall? |
| #347JudgeDookieNov 11, 2009 0:49:49 | What Ed states was intended and what FR actually is are two different thing. We know this. |
| #348StiggerNov 11, 2009 0:54:55 | Probably more like three different things these days... Ed - WotC- Individual Authors |
| #349The_SilverswordNov 11, 2009 1:04:31 |
Hmmmm that would makes sense, It is stated in the book in question, (I dont even remember the name of it, book one of the Shadow of the Avatar seris) that the energy goes back to toril, it does specify that no other god save mystra can touch it, and she reabsorbes it slowly. Well with Mystra being offed I guess that would be all screwed anyway. I think Chantea is the aspect of the physical world, not nessacirly the spiritial one. Jeeze Im gonna have to go dig this book out aint I?
And dont forget us, the gamers! |
| #350The_SilverswordNov 11, 2009 1:54:59 |
Hells yeah! thats what I was thinking! And Im surprised me sayin Elminster is a Bard in 4e, didnt cause more of an uproar. The only one to really disagree with me was Dookie but he was polite about it. Didnt call me names or use any foul language! |
| #351StiggerNov 11, 2009 5:17:14 | Gamers? Unless you're 12 and an utter imbecile who somberly reports to us that Elminster is dead, so don't bother using him after his level 200th level Uberwhatsit murdered him with his offhand pinkie, the opinions of Gamers have no bearing on the Realms whatsoever. And shouldn't after the travesty that was The Living City. |

Which doesn't negate my question or my point at all. The creation of duplicate/dodecaplicate accounts to get around a ban of any length is... Still making a new account to get around a ban. |
| #392StiggerNov 13, 2009 14:40:36 | True. Not at all. Though, you haven't actually been given the opportunity to prove yourself since these forums went to **** and nothing relevant or in depth appears to pop up. JD how many times have you been banned. I was banned 3 times myself. At least 30. I don't blame the ORCS though--they are just upholding the CoC. But that is why I still think we should have group therapy. They would soon realize my so-called negativity is about love. ;) Providing CERTAIN PEOPLE DON'T REPORT ME!! ;(
Eh. **** that guy. I almost hope he gets out of jail and returns so I can get banned for telling him what a ****ing psychopath he is.
Well, of course you've never been banned, my man. You either smoked too much while young--or even now--and swallowed too many shrooms, or you are on prozac. ![]() I've never once seen you multi-quote any thread. Try that and you will see what LK and I are talking about. |

| #400JudgeDookieNov 14, 2009 2:05:17 | What was it, a 36 hour ban. This time? At least 36. I didn't personally count. Think it was into 3 days though. I emailed them, and they seemed to figure out how to "unban" me this time, so I'm cool with it. I think I am the first person they had to do it to and got ****ed up trying to figure out how to handle it--'cause this time they got the second part right, Else, I would have still been out. Either way, the ORCS are just doing their jobs--I can't bitch. |

Didn't then or now. I don't approve of shrooms, given the details of where they come from, and I certainly don't bother with prozac. I just naturally gravitate towards fulfilling my end of the social contract that keeps the world on a relatively even keel. Unlike some I can think of... And I certainly have multi-quoted lots of threads, you just don't pay as much attention as you should, you obstropulous poppinjay you. ![]() |

| #441The_SilverswordNov 18, 2009 20:30:36 | That's a terrible idea. Where's the fun if there's no conflict? Indeed! Some of the best discussions on here have been heated arguments. Ive been tryin to stir some **** up, but to no avail. I say Elminsters a Bard, Hes Volo, Hes Gay, and nothing. No arguments at all (well Dookie said some things, but he does that any way so I didnt count that). What is up with that? Its like no one even cares anymore. Cmon people its your Realms! Dont stand for Gay Bardic Volo Disguised Elminster any longer! |
| #442JudgeDookieNov 18, 2009 23:22:16 |
Dude, first off, I'll dispute something, but I won't even attempt to debate or participate in such a thing unless it is something valid to "Realmslore" or something I am interested in. No offense, but who gives a **** who Volo really is or isn't? Does it or will it change your perception of the Realms as a whole? Not really. So you get the "why be passionate about something so insignificant?" thing. And, if you want to attempt to drive something up under a thread called Elminster's Underwear, then get a clue (again, no offense). Unless you simply enjoy these boards, you have all but abandoned this thread. You need to start a new one with a focused topic to have such a thing discussed. The thread I mentioned was worth it because you had people passionate about lore participating. Something this place sorely has lacking these days. |
| #443The_SilverswordNov 18, 2009 23:38:45 |
I agree. That is more or less the point i was making, I dont expect there really to be much debate on something as stupid as Elminsters gay! I was making a bit of joke, just a bit of a one, I was also half serious, not about El being gay (because he was a woman at the time so it doesnt count). But it does seem as though participation has dropped off, I know before if I said Els gay there would of been all kindsa ruckus over that. But any way there are a few topics that pop up here and there. The discussion of Abeirspace in the FR planes thread is a good one, and Im still trying to figure that one out. |
| #444JudgeDookieNov 19, 2009 1:04:01 | Participation dropped off: 1) because of 4e ( how the **** can you have a "Realmslore" thread with no lore to work on?); and, 2) they changed the boards without any true intent to fix them. While I am still putting together my "bitch list" on what is programmaticly wrong here, I doubt anything would even be addressed for another half-year at least, simply because the check needed to be cut would be too much for the amount odf participation these boards get these days. I mean, they didn't even migrate our accounts. How lazy is that ****? --- As for the Abier post, that's not a debate, just a bunch of hypothetical ****--no true opinions matter or facts involved. |
| #445The_SilverswordNov 19, 2009 5:47:04 |
Personaly I love hypothetical ****! I mean its one thing to be discussing established lore and someones like yeah thats in such and such book pg 69 or whatever. I prefer the type of discussions that go beyond whats in the book. things that the books just dont cover, like what does Elminster use to wipe his bum? Of course come to find out, that was already answered over at Candlekeep. I think thats another problem right there, aside from the fact that alot of people split because they dont like 4e or the new forums or whatever, theres really no new questions. The Realms have been around for like what 30 years now? In a published form anyway. Youd be hard pressed to come up with a question or comment that hasnt already been brought up before. But yeah I agree with the new low lore setting it does make for less to talk about. Unless a new novel is out or a particulary good article comes out of Dragon or Dungeon then activity kinda picks up a little. |
| #44618DELTANov 19, 2009 7:52:29 | What just happened?![]() I know I am guilty of "Threadcrapping". Yet I also post useful stuff on occasion. ![]() Can't we just have fun and talk about the Realms. ![]() Heck with the group I game with I could run the 1479 Realms using the 3E material with it... ![]() |
| #447The_SilverswordNov 19, 2009 8:06:39 | What just happened? Amen to that! Thats the whole point there is to have fun! as far as these forums go and actually playing the game. If youre not having fun then youre doing something wrong! Im not sure what threadcrapping is but im willing to bet that ive done it a time or two. It would be really cool if they put out sourcebooks for different eras of the Realms, like they do with Star Wars. I would totally buy that! Not sure how I would do the spell system for prespellplauge Realms, or during the Age of Netheril in the 4e format. |
| #448StiggerNov 19, 2009 10:14:48 | Its doubtful you could, because a lot of the fundamental presumptions on the way magic and classes do and do not work have radically altered with 4e. Which is not to say its good or bad, just different enough so as to be largely incompatible in function and flavor in anything other than a technical sense. |
| #449darth_k-travaNov 19, 2009 20:25:22 | Our group stuck with 3.5 because 1) they didn't like the 4e system and 2) they finally got tired of having to buy more books after they spent lots of money on 2e and later on 3/3.5e. |
| #450sfdragonNov 21, 2009 14:35:23 | have they looked at the pathfinder rules?? |

| #455The_SilverswordNov 22, 2009 0:02:58 | I havnt really checked it out. I got the Pathfinder Beta playtest version, but I didnt see much difference between it and 3.5. Im not sure what all they changed in the final version of it? |
| #45618DELTANov 22, 2009 0:13:22 | I like PathFINDER myself. It has brought back simplicity to our gaming group for now. No more lugging 8 different books around(Using only 1 feat out of each. ).Its only a matter of time before rules bloat happens yet again. The rabid PathFINDER fanboy's are pretty annoying...just imagine how annoying they would be if they were supporting 4E... |
| #457sfdragonNov 22, 2009 2:49:29 | they would still be annoying |
| #458The_SilverswordNov 22, 2009 10:29:51 | dont click here |
| #459Nai_CalusNov 22, 2009 14:19:56 | 4e is better by far by virtue of not being a terrible houseruling of 3.5e, which was already pretty terrible but I'll play it if I must. Pathfailure I won't touch at all. And yeah, they changed stuff between the beta and the final, including what is perhaps the stupidest, most failtastic change of all - NERFING THE FREAKING BARD WHAT THE HELLS WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT IT WASN'T OVERPOWERED TO BEGIN WITH WHAT. sfldkfjdsijsoidgjdfsg. (Yes, Pathfailure is one of the very few things that will send me into frothing, screaming nerdrage. I can't stand it and refuse to play it or have anything to do with it and will loudly denounce it whenever the subject comes up. I'd rather play FATAL, at least that I can simply laugh at.) |
| #460Doombringer_of_HoarNov 22, 2009 16:59:21 | I was just disappointed that it wasn't based off the movie Pathfinder. That was a great movie! |
| #461JudgeDookieNov 23, 2009 21:48:36 | |
| #462darth_k-travaNov 24, 2009 19:16:14 | have they looked at the pathfinder rules?? If they have, I have no knowledge of it. And, honestly, I haven't looked at them either. |
| #463sfdragonNov 24, 2009 19:18:50 | take a look when you have the chance... |
| #464StiggerNov 25, 2009 18:07:32 | Well, if Nai hates Pathfinder, maybe I will invest in it afterall... there's got to be something worthwhile in it if it inspires that much foaming-at-the-mouth rage from him, creepy little elf-lover that he is...![]() ![]() |
| #465JudgeDookieNov 25, 2009 20:28:49 | Actually, it's the self-prescribed nobility that does it--not the elf loving part. |
| #466sfdragonNov 25, 2009 20:47:31 | He'd likely hate the glow in the dark elves of castlemourn too.... |
| #467JudgeDookieNov 25, 2009 21:16:13 | Who? Stig or Mr. Nai Nai? |
| #468The_SilverswordNov 25, 2009 22:39:06 | Probably both, Stig seems to hate Elves in general, regardless if they glow or not. |
| #469JudgeDookieNov 25, 2009 23:42:56 | Stig does, indeed. As for Mr. Nai Nai, I imagine he could just buy a clapper and shut the elves he dislikes off as need be. "Elf ON! Elf OFF! The CLAPPER!!" ![]() |
| #470sfdragonNov 26, 2009 0:24:10 | I'm old enough to remember the clapper; but JD, that makes no real since....being that the glow in the dark elves of castlemourn make a concentration check to turn it off.... so would the concentrator make a better name for the joke? |
| #471JudgeDookieNov 26, 2009 0:57:45 | Deliver one and we'll see. |
| #47218DELTANov 26, 2009 2:11:59 | Stig does, indeed. As for Mr. Nai Nai, I imagine he could just buy a clapper and shut the elves he dislikes off as need be. ![]() To funny! |
| #473The_SilverswordNov 26, 2009 3:05:33 | I just got a big bunch of FR novels off of ebay! I gots lots of reading to do! Im on book two of the Shadows of the Avatar Series, and i just got to the Elminsters enchanted undergarments part. Good stuff, Ed Greenwood is the MAN!!!!! On topic Even!!!! |
| #474StiggerNov 26, 2009 8:24:47 | Actually I quite like elves. I just don't like the monsters that call themselves elves in the Realms, or their evil overlords, the Seldarine. Well, I guess that means I like the idea of elves, just not the way they were presented in the Realms. They're obviously "Teh Fail" compared to Hin and Gnomes afterall, so I guess a lot of their atrocities are just acting out on those feelings of inadequacy that they so apparently harbor towards the smaller, and hence closer to the earth, folks. |
| #475JudgeDookieNov 26, 2009 18:12:28 | Yeah. But as I believe I have brought up before, the elves you conceptualize could never be played as a PC. Any playable race will have a human taint to it to some degree, so it simply wouldn't work in a setting like FR. |
| #476Nai_CalusNov 26, 2009 20:57:06 | To be honest, I'm not that fond of FR elves myself. Especially Sun Elves. Buncha jerks. The Seldarine at least is multispheric, and FR elves are known to be wrong about it at times. :P Funny how the members of it I like the least are FR-specific. Shevarash pisses me off in ways Ye'Cind just somehow doesn't. (Probably because he isn't a god of officially sanctioned hate crimes. Funny how no other crystal sphere seems to need an elven god of hate. FR makes the poor Seldarine look bad.) |
| #477JudgeDookieNov 26, 2009 21:22:01 | I agree. I'm definitely more in line with Stig's point of view--and yours. FR elves are a corruption to the original intent. But, as stated, that is because that race was made available to PC's. |
| #478Nai_CalusNov 26, 2009 22:42:31 | I dunno, your generic core D&D elves aren't anywhere near on the level of FR elves for dickery and being ****. Mary Sue, maybe, but not Eldreth Veluuthra. |
| #479JudgeDookieNov 26, 2009 22:53:05 | 4e Core is not the "conceptual elves" being spoken of. |
| #480The_SilverswordNov 27, 2009 1:57:28 | So this is quite a revalation. Stig likes Elves and Nai hates FR ones. I would of never guessed that in a million years. |
| #481Nai_CalusNov 27, 2009 8:29:50 |
I'm not talking 4e core either. 4e core can suck it. I'm talking 'core elves' in the sense of the old 2e-era fluff from such charmingly 'lolwat' books a Complete Book of Elves. Wherein Elves are decidedly Mary Sue perfect niceynice tree huggers in general, and not much like FR elves at all. I'm not actually referring to whatever you and Stigg are on about. |
| #482StiggerNov 27, 2009 9:16:57 | Hey, elves bring cookies, so they can't be all bad. Just on Faerun... And I'm being charitable and ignoring that those cookie-elves look more like gnomes than elves... |
| #483JudgeDookieNov 27, 2009 12:14:22 | Great. Now we have elven girl scouts. Whats next? Drow S.E.A.L.S.? 18D--don't you even try it. |
| #484StiggerNov 27, 2009 13:46:03 | Drow already have Rangers, so no need to give them S.E.A.L.'s. I'd go with Hin or Gnome S.E.A.L.'s myself, since they both get everywhere eventually... |
| #485sfdragonNov 27, 2009 15:43:43 | the hin and gnomes dont have flying machinery for S E A Ls |
| #486The_SilverswordNov 27, 2009 16:48:05 | Of course they do...![]() |
| #48718DELTANov 27, 2009 21:48:05 | Drow already have Rangers, so no need to give them S.E.A.L.'s. I'd go with Hin or Gnome S.E.A.L.'s myself, since they both get everywhere eventually... The Halflings could be SEAL's. Look at what happened to there homeland during the Spellplague. The Gnomes would have to be Mossat, because you don't even know they are around half the time. |
| #488sfdragonNov 28, 2009 0:02:18 | Of course they do... nah.... those are from kara tur |
| #489Nai_CalusNov 28, 2009 0:11:11 | Hey, elves bring cookies, so they can't be all bad. Just on Faerun...
And they make toys! Pesky Torilian elves. |
| #490StiggerNov 28, 2009 8:00:38 | Of course they do... Obviously you're not familiar with DaRoni the gnome, up there in the hills of Cormyr... |
| #491StiggerNov 28, 2009 15:15:34 | You only think you killed them. It was only illusions you whacked. It was all just in your twisted mind... |
| #492The_SilverswordNov 28, 2009 17:16:37 | Of course they do... Obviously youre familiar with Aurora's Whole Realms Catalogue! You should try your hand at the Realms Trivia Challange! |
| #493StiggerNov 28, 2009 19:23:30 | Of course I'm familiar with Aurora's, which was also covered in 2e's Cloak and Dagger to some extent. I'm familiar with that thread as well, I just avoid it. ![]() |
| #494sfdragonNov 28, 2009 20:02:18 | You only think you killed them. It was only illusions you whacked. It was all just in your twisted mind... I sir am quite appalled that you think I whackd them, I did no such thing..... I stopped in there one night, ate dinner there. Their beans were quite good, they just didnt agree with my digestive tract and I had gas all night long.... Those gnomes never saw it coming..... you got the twisted part right |
| #49518DELTANov 28, 2009 20:16:44 | Of course I'm familiar with Aurora's, which was also covered in 2e's Cloak and Dagger to some extent. I'm familiar with that thread as well, I just avoid it. What?!?!?! |

I'm familiar with that thread as well, I just avoid it. I know! Whats up with that? Some people just dont know how to have fun! It really is a great thread! Its a fun little game, and youll probably learn a thing or three about the Realms, I know i have! |
| #49718DELTANov 28, 2009 20:29:48 | Thats scarey, you just sounded like Wooly over at Candlekeep... |
| #498The_SilverswordNov 28, 2009 20:41:04 | well thanx! (i think?) |
| #499StiggerNov 30, 2009 13:37:14 | Of course I'm familiar with Aurora's, which was also covered in 2e's Cloak and Dagger to some extent. I'm familiar with that thread as well, I just avoid it. In other words, Aurora's Whole Realms Emporium received some coverage in the aforementioned book. In the Mercantile Powers section, if I recall correctly. |
| #500The_SilverswordNov 30, 2009 18:23:00 | I just finished reading Cloak of Shadows by Ed Greenwood. Elminster uses his magical underwear in that one no less than 3 times! |
| #501JudgeDookieNov 30, 2009 20:41:36 | If such is the case, wouldn't the title of the book "Panties of Shadows" be more apt? |
| #502The_SilverswordNov 30, 2009 22:21:45 | El did not wear panties!, not in THAT book any way. |
| #503JudgeDookieNov 30, 2009 22:35:44 | Denial! |
| #504sfdragonNov 30, 2009 22:44:14 | thought he went sans???? |
| #505JudgeDookieNov 30, 2009 22:48:14 | Rumor is all. Swordboy evidently has the real scoop. |
| #506The_SilverswordNov 30, 2009 22:49:04 | I think it depends on his mood, but if hes goin into battle its a safe bet that hes got his magical undies. They apprently are undies of feather fall and levitation, possibly flight as well, other enchantments are on there as well im sure. |
| #507JudgeDookieNov 30, 2009 23:16:02 | Which, of course, brings us right back around to the retarded purpose of this post. |
| #508The_SilverswordDec 01, 2009 0:02:00 | Well I just read that book, Cloak of Shadows, and it does reference Els magic undergarments, not once, but thrice! LK brought it up earlier in this thread, but i thought it was a joke, but nope there it is! I havnt read every single Elminster novel, not yey any way, so i dont know if theres any other reference to his undies. I do know from El in Myth Drannor, that he also has a coil of rope that he keeps wraped around his midsection as well. |
| #509sfdragonDec 01, 2009 1:05:55 | so here I thought the whole point of this thread was a huge underwear joke. tsk tsk... |
| #510JudgeDookieDec 01, 2009 1:09:24 | Whadiyknow! Another 3 posts miraculously disappearing and not an ORC around to claim responsibility. Go figure. |
| #511StiggerDec 01, 2009 9:04:13 | It was probably Delta's fault... he has gone over to the truly evil these days, and surely his depravity knows no bounds. |
