Elturel's Second Sun birth - or: where the hell did the Elversult Sun go?

Nov 23, 2011 23:44:38 Guys, I just noticed this thing.
My current campaign is ALL based on the second sun hovering over Elturel.
yeah, it's shiny, it's nice, keeps undeads away and prevents you from sleeping at night.

i was wondering... when the hell was this sun created?
I can't find any reference on it.

I know that in 1374 on Midsummer Daelegoth casted Amaunator Eternal Sun and created a second sun, but that was... in Elversult.

Was the elversult sun... moved? if it was, when was it?
or did someone just cast another eternal sun over elturel? (yaaay, lots of epic spells, these days..)
and if the elturel one is a new sun, what about the elversult one? did it stop shining?

Am I the only one who still believes that someone with a little more brain than that still works at WotC?

I was hoping in some kind of historical revelation about Daelegoth or other sun priests.
In my head it still make sense that the Amaunator Companion is in a city directly in front of a fort called Fort Morninglord... (i am hoping in some kind of heresy plot twist here)

So Daelegoth did create Elturel's second sun. Assuming the discrepancy ever even comes up in my games (unlikely), I'm ok with just chalking it up to the Spellplague or a misrecorded history book.

should it stay in Elversult? or should it be in Elturel?

Nov 30, 2011 2:55:43 The Temple of the Morn has been in Elversult since 2e at least (Forgotten Realms Adventures, among others possibly, mentioned it), so I'm going to go with a goof during the 4e process, rather than a mistake in Power of Faerun, since that temple was specifically named.

Had a shadar-kai PC who spent years as a Calimport arena slave. Upon escaping, he made his way north, and stumbled into Elturel. He ended up barely getting out of town alive.

Unsurprisingly, he spent some time as a vigilante, and focused on Paladin types who abused their power. :P Really not fond of Torm, but that may just be player projection.
