Any one know anything about the fate of Elventree? Small Elven/Half-Elven settlement on the Moon sea. Is it still around in 4e?

It was renamed Eladrintree.

Ahh well of course, that makes sense. So its still there then? It seems like i remember reading some where about it getting overrun with Zhents or something. Flipping through the 3e Realms and its all fine and dandy in there. No mention in 4e though just wondering if something happened to it, other then them renaming it. Ok so did the town actually get renamed or was it retconned so that was "always" the name?

Well i guess the rule is if they dont outright say such and such was destroyed, then we are to assume that its still there.

Actually, I was joking.Innocent Though that would be something if they really did rename it that. I honestly don't recall reading about it, though being overrun by Zhents sounds familiar. Might've been another Moonsea land, though. Personally, I've just kept Elventree safe and sound throughout the time jump. Even if it was destroyed, it's certainly a lot easier to restore than, say, Halruaa.

Ahhh you was joking! You know that does sound exactly like the sort of thing "they" would do.

-The old rule applies: Nothing says that it doesn't exist anymore, so let's just assume that it does, until something says otherwise. Given the...flimsy grounds that Elventree was built on to begin with, I'd supposed that it was particularly vulnerable to the Spellplague.

Its a very small Elven/ Half-Elven Village on the southern shore of the Moonsea. Lots of tree houses and the like. Most people ride right past it without even realizing that its there. Ill look around for a map and post it.

-Basically, Elventree is a small trading town that was set up as a place for goods and coin to transfer hands between the Elves of Cormanthyr and Humans (of the area) after the Elven Court was made the capital of the Elven nation. What made Elventree something necessary was that the Elven Court had a prohibition against N'Tel'Quessir from entering. Think Mecca, in Saudi Arabia. Non-Muslims aren't allowed in Mecca, according to Saudi law, because of a sura in the Quran that says that "...idolators [non-Muslims] are unclean so they shall not approach the Sacred Mosque..." Likewise, Humans weren't allowed in the Elven Court. But, because Cormanthyr was involved in international matters, like commerce and trade alliances, goods needed somewhere to flow from/to. Hence, Elventree.

Well I havnt heard anything about it being destroyed, and the Moonsea area was not hit hard by the Spellplague, so im assuming its there, maybe they're more secretive now.

-Probably. With the reemergence of Myth Drannor, I'd imaging Elventree to have become fairly conservative, to the point of reneging on it's policies of not allowing Humans into it. It wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination for many of the Elves of Elventree to be either old enough to directly remember Cormanthyr, and the Fall of Myth Drannor, or somewhat resentful of the reemergence of Myth Drannor. After all, elaborating on the second one there, who are these Elves, to arbitrarily return to Myth Drannor and reestablish it after all of these years? Yes, Ilsevele Miratar was awarded the Ruler's Blade, and was declared the true Coronal of Myth Drannor, but let's back up a second. Where were all of these Elves when Myth Drannor laid in ruins, and Elventree "enjoyed" (using the term both literally and sarcastically) it's status as lone Elven settlement in the area? And, now that they're back, they want control, tipping the balance of power vis-a-vis the two settlements? To use a contemporary example, how would the people of Washington D.C. feel is Baltimore suddenly became the capital of the U.S.?
