I have a fighter2/Paladin8

He is a Paladin of Lathander (DM has made a change to Lathanders weapon to be the morning star instead of mace) Right now I have a greatsword +1/+1D6 frost dmg and a full plate +2, gauntlets of ogre strength, Ring of protec +2and a cloak of resist +2, Iron ward of Diamond +1 AC and a scabbard of Keen. What type of stuff should I try to get hold of to boost this toon with better weapon, armor and so on? I have bullrush and soon shocktrooper as feats.

-Get the Frost off of that sword, and get Flaming on it, pronto. What kind of self-respecting Morninglord would have a Frost weapon?

Well, it would depend on what your build is. From the impression i'm getting, your going to use you Shock Trooper feats NOT mounted, so i'd suggest that you take the Charging Smite class feature from the Player's Handbook 2 instead of the Special Mount. Further, your choice in a 2-hander is a good one, but i'm for optimization over aesthetics and a flaming weapon doesn't compare to a valorous weapon (x2 damage on a charge, or x3 with other modifiers such as Rhino's Rush - a 1st lvl pally spell). Also, see if you can drop the cloak for a Cloak of Charisma +2. Your Cha is the MOST important stat for a Paladin and should be forefront in your mind. At 10th level, you should have a Belt of Strength +4, and for your arms I'd go with the Armbands of Might (Magic Item Compendium). A good belt would be a Belt of Battle also in the MIC. For boots, i'd suggest Boots of Speed for the Haste property. What other feats did you take besides Power Attack, Improved Bull-Rush and Shock Trooper? I hope they include Battle Blessing (Complete Champion) to make most of your spells swift actions and there is a 3rd lvl spell called Find the Gap that treats your first attack each round as a touch attack, practically making Shock Trooper useless.

If I know anything about DnD, it's making whoop-@ss Paladins. Heck, I can make a paladin nearly take out a Balor single handedly at 15th level!

Explain more. Also, how would you equipt a Half-Orc Paladin of Corellon? Yes I know it sounds stupid and impossible, but that half-orc/half-elf has spent along time proving himself to the highest ideals of elfhood, that even Corellon is starting to look past his.... orcness. Level 8. But go higher if ya want.

-In funeral garb, because that's where such a Half-Orc Paladin of Corellon Larethian belongs. ;)

(It doesn't sound impossible, by the way. It IS impossible. Corellon Larethian does not have Paladins. That aside...)

Umm... Maybe he's a Paladin of Freedom?

Also, I'd say put Elemental Aura on the sword. That way you can jump from Flaming, to Frost, to Acid, to Electric, to even Sonic. Elemental Aura is alot more useful from a tactical stand point.

A deity of gigantic proportions! One who never cowers in the presence of evil and can stamp out foes with a mere gaze. Pathetic 'so-called-deities' such as Bane and Cyric are like the buzzing of flies to him. He. Is. WHOOP-@SS!!!

(@Diffan: Do not let LK in if you value your religion. He's the guy who stole the divinity of a deity of magic with a spell - one . freaking . spell. Can you imagine what he could do to a deity of whoop-@ss?)

Whoop-@ss does not fear silly wizards and they're spells.

On one hand, I feel dirty for asking if I could convert... Feel like I've betrayed Hoar, but on the other hand. Oy... I think I just fell in love with that character build.

In all seriousness, the build is pretty simple that can incorporate any deity.

I took a Flaw only to gain the Dreadful Wrath feat so it's not required. Also, Weapon Focus can easily be switched with Improved Initiative or even Improved Bull-Rush. The build I used was:

1st, Human- Power Attack, Improved Sunder
3rd- Weapon Focus or Improved Initiative
5th- Charging Smite (ACF)
6th- Battle Blessing, Remove Curse (ACF)
9th- Combat Brute
12th- Awesome Smite
15th- Divine Might
18th- Free

Divine Might is good, as well as Law Devotion or even Extra Smite. At 18th level I like Sacred Vitality or Leadership.

Eh, I tend to lean more towards being able to Tank with my pure Paladins. Will most of my cross-class Paladins tend toward combat prowess. Most of them seem almost "sub par", but it's still fun using them.

Ah, but was it a Tarraqsue with the celestial template? I think not.

For damage, you take the weapon damage 1d8 (we'll say 4 average) + 13 (Str/weapon property) + 30 (from PA with two hands on the longsword) + 45 (from charging smite) + 7 (from Divine Might)= 95 dmg. This number is tripled with Rhino's Rush and the valorous property= 285 dmg. Add the average damage from the holy property (6)= 291 dmg. But the balor has DR 15/cold iron and good so -15= 274. To eliminate the Balor's DR, instead cast Find the Gap and Bless Weapon on your 1st round to make the weapon good aligned. I didn't say it would kill the balor, but darn well come close and with no help and 5 levels lower than it's CR.

Yea, so apparently my basic arithmetic is....well bad. Not to beat a dead horse but the damage output would be 99 then x3 to 297 then -15 to 282 which is still 9 hps away from dropping the Balor. I really need to learn to read the stuff I type.

Combat Brute is way more effective than Shock Trooper. If you have the spell Find the Gap on it'll make your damage on the turn after you charge deal that much more. Also, with levels of Fighter, you might want to invest some ranks in Jump so that Leap Attack is easier to obtain. By making a power-jump attack at the end of your charge gives your power attack ratio 4:1 (4 dmg to -1 attack). Now that's sweet!

On one hand, I'm with Lord Karsus, while on another. I hate undead with a passion. I might be able to stand Vampires, at least I can get an intelligent conversation out of them, same with Lichs. However, unlike with Vampires, any Lich I come across, I "re-kill". Because they are corruptions of the natural order. And I take offense at there very existences. Zombies, Animated Skeletons, Wraiths, Liches, ect. The thought of disturbing someone rest just to rise them as mindless grunt cannon fodder, sickens me. At least most vampires have the up side of very being put in the earth to start with. But even that wouldn't protect them from me for long.

No, I meant that I was with you on the Undead pretty much being "done to death" (forgive the pun). Depending on the campaign and the DM, it's almost imposable to go anywhere without stumbling over Undead.

-Oh, oh. Yeah, my DM uses Undead whenever he can, to the point that, after having him DMed me for so long, Undead are boring. The more common forms, anyway. Currently, our BBEG is some kind of large Undead Shade thing (A Nightshade, perhaps), and, so far, that's no played out, as it is different.

Hmm, well the Helm of the purple plume's +2 Cha won't stack with that of a cloak of charisma. You could look into what an Angelhelm does, it's listed in the Magic Item Compendium. Also, other things such as headband of Intellect could easily be constructed into a helm. As for the Helm of Brilliance, it's listed in the Dungeon Master's Guide.

That's a sweet Prestige class. All full of Smiting goodness. I didn't go that route more because the thought of going 20 levels of paladin and then Epic paladin just makes me feel.....accomplished.

im sorry for ya lol,i love fighting undead, they make very well rounded "bad guys" imo but thats just me,btw dose rhino's rush double ALL damage from a charge or is like a crit and just do weapon damage

Rhino's Rush doubles ALL damage done on a charge attack. This means weapon damage, smiting damage, divine might damage, power attck damage, but not extra-die damage such as the Holy property, sneak attack, etc. Yes, a very sweet spell indeed and a lvl 1 at that!!
