| #1SpacekaseAug 07, 2008 16:25:21 | I haven't seen it mentioned in any excerpts or in Swordmage, do we know what has happened to it? Has it gone the way of Atlantis? I keep seeing Myth Drannor mentioned as a main elven community, but not Evermeet? Thanks Space |
| #2yarethonAug 07, 2008 16:34:30 | Richard Baker, said Evermeet still exists. For more than that, we will have to wait. |
| #3lord_karsusAug 07, 2008 16:35:49 | -Wel'll find out in a few weeks. If it is indeed changing, expect it to become more "Eladrinnny". Maybe it'll be one of those "in-flux" places between the Plane of Faerie and the Prime Material Plane, now. -For more information about Evermeet, in general, see Elves of Faerûn. |
| #4markustay63Aug 07, 2008 16:35:54 | Last I heard, it was still there, but some big changes were made. What, exactly, that means, is anyone's guess. I'm betting that its just getting tied closer to the Feywild, now that Gold and Silver Elves are Eladrin. I'd love to see the explanantion of that retcon, but I really doubt there will be one. |
| #5SpacekaseAug 07, 2008 17:47:05 | Thank You very much for all of your replies. More is clear now. Space |
| #6hanali-in-loveAug 07, 2008 18:39:31 | with all the changes i'm reading about it's most likely changed with all it's canon history. ![]() |
| #7IluvrienAug 07, 2008 18:42:26 | with all the changes i'm reading about it's most likely changed with all it's canon history. I think this is why we had The Return... so that all the Elven eggs wouldn't be in one basket when the rampaging metallic dragon trod on it. |
| #8lord_karsusAug 07, 2008 19:45:07 | with all the changes i'm reading about it's most likely changed with all it's canon history. -It's a distinct possibility that there will be retcons. |
| #9lord_karsusAug 14, 2008 21:20:57 | -Well, now we know what happened to Evermeet: During the Spellplague, the island was shunted to the Plane of Faerie. In it's place, on the Prime Material Plane, sits and island devoid of life. The soldiers and Dragons on the island of Sumbrar were killed, and the Starwing Fleet destroyed. |
| #10meldreadAug 14, 2008 21:36:04 | But Evermeet still exists, as a whole, on the Plane of Faerie just not on Toril. I've always thought that the Elves, instead of creating a whole freakin' island just for themselves (and in turn blowing up the rest of the planet) should have just gone back to Faerie. |
| #11IluvrienAug 14, 2008 21:39:46 | And yet no Amlaruil. I think I would probably contest that "whole", Meldread. After all, a body can look physically undamaged from the outside even if the heart is missing. |
| #12lord_karsusAug 14, 2008 21:47:08 | But Evermeet still exists, as a whole, on the Plane of Faerie just not on Toril. -I never said it didn't exist. |
| #13lord_karsusAug 14, 2008 21:48:12 | And yet no Amlaruil. I think I would probably contest that "whole", Meldread. -Indeed. What were the circumstances? I didn't see the post that revealed that, and I only found out when Rin told me on the phone. |
| #14meldreadAug 14, 2008 21:51:44 | Evermeet never interested me. It could have sunk beneath the waves for all I cared. ;) The only way I would have cared about that place was if EV managed to take it over and convince the Elves to use their massive army to invade Faerun. (In which case, I would have cheered them on. :P) |
| #15lord_karsusAug 14, 2008 21:53:21 | Evermeet never interested me. -This is why you fail, grasshopper...:P |
| #16meldreadAug 14, 2008 22:11:11 | :P I really want to know what happened to Eldreth Veluuthra, though. I held out hope that they'd take over Myth Drannor and the returning Dark Elves (former Drow) would join them. Together they'd scheme and make war against those pesky annoying human beasts and take back Elven lands that they stole from them. ![]() |
| #17markustay63Aug 14, 2008 22:21:39 | The Eldreth Veluuthra are now based out of the Hullack forest, as per Brian James' Cormyr article. Strangely, I'm sad to see Evermeet go... It's like losing one's arch-nemesis. ![]() |

While that's not exactly what you were hoping for, it's something. Strangely, I'm sad to see Evermeet go... -Admit it: You know you loved it. |
| #19markustay63Aug 14, 2008 22:42:58 | I did. I was a big fan of the whole 'Retreat' thing, and Evermeet was an integral part of that. Sadly, this looks less and less like the Realms we knew everday. Fortunately I plan a 3e/4e blend for me next home game. |
| #20lord_karsusAug 14, 2008 22:45:41 | I did. -There, there. Let it all out. |
