| #1todesherrAug 15, 2008 5:34:00 | Well? |
| #2DiffanAug 15, 2008 6:39:01 | Well, I won't know until I get the Campaign Guide but Bane's symbol in the DMG was different than the 3e symbol. Whether or not that'll cross over into the Realms.....i don't know. |
| #3lord_karsusAug 15, 2008 20:08:17 | -Some might, some might not. :P |
| #4merrikcaleAug 16, 2008 21:17:49 | the greater gods do |
| #5markustay63Aug 16, 2008 21:27:37 | Ao's new symbol looks like a mouth... Yawning. :D |
| #6WizardmanAug 16, 2008 21:49:06 | Some of them, yes. Amaunator, Bane, Corellon, Gruumsh, Lolth, and Moradin do. The rest are exactly out of previous editions; the artwork is new, but the symbols are unmistakable. Chauntea's is a little overly stylized, though. Of course, we only get symbols for the greater gods, and in fact most of the focus is on the greaters. There's definitely room for a Powers and Pantheons type book, if only to explain the culling of certain deities and why others have made the choices that they have. |

| #9askanipsionAug 17, 2008 2:34:06 | Some of them, yes. Amaunator, Bane, Corellon, Gruumsh, Lolth, and Moradin do. What does Lolth's new symbol look like? Same as in the Core book? |
| #10sfdragonAug 17, 2008 2:59:39 | it has also been stated that the Bane in the points of light core books, is not necessarily the Dread Bane of the FR. so askani who was the author of that image anyway?? |
| #11angelus_obscuraAug 17, 2008 3:26:45 | so askani who was the author of that image anyway?? You mean his avatar image? That's from Don Bassingthwaite's Dragon Below series. BEST Eberron series evAR! IMO, anyways. ![]() Oh, and I hope Kelemvor's holy symbol from 3e remained intact. A golden balance held by a skeleton arm is just awesome. |
| #12todesherrAug 17, 2008 3:57:31 | Torm....what of Torm... |
| #13JudgeDookieAug 17, 2008 4:28:52 | Cyric:![]() |

Yeah it was deifnitely the best Eberron novel series - she is a kalashtar elocator psion - she even got a psicrystal. My favorite class & my favorite race. :D I highly recommend the series. GREAT cover art too. |
| #17markustay63Aug 17, 2008 10:35:03 | -Rich Baker has stated that, as of now, there are no plans for such a book. Which is pretty much the same as a non-answer - it depends... Remember how EVERY WotC employee INSISTED there was NO 4e in the works, right up until last years Gencon... I got a secret for ya'... Designers lie... a LOT all hail Judge Dookie Exarch of Oghma: Painters Yes, that was most definately 'MarkusTay Worthy' :D ![]() |
| #18lord_karsusAug 17, 2008 12:04:29 | Uh...being a Exarch painter doesn't sound all that bad ass, but...uh...sure. -If anyone can make it work, you can. Which is pretty much the same as a non-answer - it depends... -Just taking his word at face value. We know that, at least for the next year, there is no such plans on such a book being developed. And, being that we know the marketing strategy is to focus on a single setting at the rate of one per year (with 2008 being the Forgotten Realms, 2009 being Eberron, 2010 being something else), it seems to hold, not having such a book being published. |
| #19JudgeDookieAug 17, 2008 13:53:43 | Yes, that was most definately 'MarkusTay Worthy' :D 'Cause you were probably on the couch, watchin' the Simpson's as I came up with it. But thanks. To be MT worthy is...is...well, it’s like being an Exarch painter or something. ![]() -If anyone can make it work, you can. I don’t know. That’s a pretty tall order. Those Brian R. James t-shirts didn’t sell as well as I hoped. Maybe if I stick to god signs I’ll prosper. -Just taking his word at face value. Yuh. I personally don’t see anything coming out for the next few years unless DDi takes a complete plunge and nobody subscribes. Not likely, I be thinkin’. |
| #20lord_karsusAug 17, 2008 17:13:52 | Maybe if I stick to god signs I’ll prosper. -You should start your very own thread for new deity symbols. ![]() Yuh. | #21sfdragonAug 17, 2008 20:32:30 | Which is pretty much the same as a non-answer - it depends... All Hail MArkusTay64, Exarch of Oghma: mapmaking, navigators.( or would exploration do better??) |
| #22JudgeDookieAug 17, 2008 21:39:38 | -You should start your very own thread for new deity symbols. You know what--I damn well should. Send me that list of deities and perhaps I'll get to it. ![]() |
| #23lord_karsusAug 17, 2008 22:58:11 | You know what--I damn well should. -The list can be found HERE. And, if you start one, I'll try to contribute. ![]() |
| #24WizardmanAug 18, 2008 0:24:52 | What does Lolth's new symbol look like? Same as in the Core book? Yes, and ditto with the other "repeats." There are some cosmetic differences (Asmodeus' symbol is part of a ring, Moradin's is just the flaming anvil, Corellon's isn't part of a banner) but on the whole they are exactly the same. |
| #25askanipsionAug 18, 2008 6:09:13 | Yes, and ditto with the other "repeats." There are some cosmetic differences (Asmodeus' symbol is part of a ring, Moradin's is just the flaming anvil, Corellon's isn't part of a banner) but on the whole they are exactly the same. Thanks for the info! ![]() |

| #27rinonalyrna_fathomlinAug 27, 2008 17:53:44 | Yes, and ditto with the other "repeats." There are some cosmetic differences (Asmodeus' symbol is part of a ring, Moradin's is just the flaming anvil, Corellon's isn't part of a banner) but on the whole they are exactly the same. I figured the symbol for Corellon in the Core book was just the star, and the banner was just showing how the symbol could be used. My interpretation. |
| #28tyrantbaneAug 27, 2008 18:30:50 | I dont know if it could work but we could do a petition for a Faiths & Avatars style book...What do you think? |
| #29GreenKnightAug 27, 2008 18:38:12 | Don't know if a petition would work, but I would like such a book. A Deities & Demigods book, to be exact. Something that would be appealing to nearly all D&D players, rather than just Realms players. Have a section on the Forgotten Realms gods, a section on the Eberron gods, and another section on the core gods. |
| #30rinonalyrna_fathomlinAug 27, 2008 18:45:51 | A petition? I seriously doubt it would work. |
| #31tyrantbaneAug 27, 2008 18:48:53 | Well if I remember correctly, someone here had something to do with the exclusion of Tyr and the promotion of Torm as a greater god, right? If we join all our efforts and ask strongly for such a book, maybe (we can always hope) we'll get it, dont you think? |
| #32rinonalyrna_fathomlinAug 27, 2008 18:53:13 | Well if I remember correctly, someone here had something to do with the exclusion of Tyr and the promotion of Torm as a greater god, right? Yes, Greenknight. ![]() If we join all our efforts and ask strongly for such a book, maybe (we can always hope) we'll get it, dont you think? I don't think so, sorry. Greenknight had a well-argued idea for the setting that the designers thought fit in well with their plans for the Realms. The possible sales of a sourcebook is an entirely different matter. Even if all the people who, say, signed a petition would buy such a book, WotC might still not think there would be enough buyers to make it worth producing. |
| #33GreenKnightAug 27, 2008 19:08:27 | Sadly, she's got a point. If petitions truly worked, then Uwe Boll would no longer be making movies. Unfortunately, that's not the case. |

| #36tyrantbaneAug 27, 2008 20:51:35 | Let's hope they'll detail the various churches in the Player's guide then :S |
| #37rinonalyrna_fathomlinAug 27, 2008 21:24:20 | Let's hope they'll detail the various churches in the Player's guide then :S Again, I hate to be a downer, but they'll probably only say as much as they think typical PCs will need to know. |
| #38lord_karsusAug 27, 2008 21:59:26 | -Which, if I am following the trend, isn't too much. |
