| #1KhaeliethApr 29, 2008 14:59:24 | Has anyone tried introducing them into the Realms? As a fan of the Far Realms, i've wondered how people have used them in the Realms themselves. |
| #2StiggerApr 29, 2008 16:02:11 | Not even once... but I can't stand the Far Realms, so that shouldn't be surprising. I knew there was something wrong with you though... this is the proof I needed to be sure that I was really glad I used you so despicably. Yay me! :P :D |

| #7lord_karsusApr 29, 2008 22:36:17 | -I don't particular adhere to the rules for Planar travel and all of that, but it shouldn't be that hard to utilize the Far Realms in a Forgotten Realms campaign. I mean, to quote Nike, "Just do it". The entity Pandorym already has/had a foothold on Faerûn (The Purple Palace of the Raurin Desert). |
| #8old_sageApr 30, 2008 9:38:47 | The Far Realm itself does not exist within the cosmological framework of the Great Tree -- merely some element of the Far Realm has been referenced as impacting on 3e FR and its planar structure. This implies that it exists -- has been referenced -- in 3e FR. Thus, the Far Realm does exist with the 3e FR cosmology, and can be considered an element outside the Realms planar framework. Specifically, it's noted in the Dragonking details in CoS:W... pg. 63 -- under the "Wands" noble family entry. The original reference was in the 3rd of the "Marco Volo" modules in which the Dragonking makes a brief appearance in the Realms. [I wouldn't really recommend this adventure trilogy however, but they are considered part of canon Realmslore]. Eric tells us he that tried to work with them when expanding on the Dragonking entry in CoS. You can find the modules here for free:- http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/downloads From there, the Dragonking was mentioned in Volo's Guide to All Things Magical -- under the entry for the "Dragonking's Eye". Eric, thus, continued with the reference into CoS:W and makes a more solid connection to the Far Realm. Also, with regard to the Dragonking's Eye... since the defeat of the Dragonking [after it was released by Marcus Wands], it's been noted that the alien god's release has resulted in an unusual effect occuring in the Realms. Strange entities from the Far Realm have slowly began appearing within the local vicinity of individual members of House Wands, and almost always at random. So, for the most part, it would seem as though the Wands family have garnered some rather "undesired" attention from the bizarre creatures of the Outside Realm. |

I liked the idea of a lot of these "abberation" creatures (illithids and the like) being from other planets, not necessarily other planes. That's just me. |

Pandorym's actually about the only "Elder Evil" that isn't Far Realmsian in origin. He (well, "he") is from a place "perpendicular" to the Great Tree. I liked the idea of a lot of these "abberation" creatures (illithids and the like) being from other planets, not necessarily other planes. That's just me. Personally, I like that, too, because I prefer one big Prime Material (or a series of parallel ones) with the planes branching off it, but that's too Spelljammer, which is apparently anathema or something. I actually don't have the same distaste for the Far Realms as some, but making anything with a tentacle from there is a bit much. |

I figured, being in Elder Evils, it's story was further elaborated on, asides for being a Imaskari pseudo deity to include being from the Far Realms. |

| #14KhaeliethMay 01, 2008 18:17:35 | i've incorporated it anyway! Got mad kaortis and other insanities! Made some fish-humans with the feats from Lords of Madness. Make perfect low-level creatures for the PC's to plow through! Basically, it's just going to be a sub-plot where a gate's about to be made into the Far Realms by a bunch of nutcases. it's not going to be linked to the rest of the campaign, but the nutcase behind it takes up the role as evil mastermind #4. |
