Just on a fun note, I'd run a 3.5 FR campaign for a few years and here are some of the terrains that my group adventured to.

Deep in the Tethyamar Mines, there was an underkeep that the party helped the Tethyamar Dwarves to recover on their way to retaking the mines from barghests and goblins and hobgoblins.

Tethyamar Underkeep

The party also gained possession of this Cult of the Dragon Stronghold (created and hidden by Sammaster, but outed in the Year of the Rogue Dragons). The group actually came to OWN this place and use it as a base of operations. It was once attacked by a large force of Zhents.

Cult of the Dragon Stronghold

Finally, I did create the "town" base of operations which, though not totally accurate to old maps, represents a street in Dagger Falls.

Dagger Falls

A lot of the elements are modular and come apart on all of these models and we're planning to start a new campaign at some point in the same area, but 100 years later after the spell storm.

Anyone know for sure if Dagger Falls even still exists through the catastrophes that were spelled out over those 100 years?

-I don't play with miniatures, but that's some hardcore work right there.

I'm with LK--always hated miniatures. Had I played with you, that very well might have been a different story.

Absolutely astounding work there, my man.

EDIT: Still looking. You are F*ckin' nuts.

OMG!

If I ever win the lottery, I'm going to commission work from you for use in my FR game.

Absolutely awesome and thank you for sharing!

As to your question about Dagger Falls, the FR Campaign Guide (page 108) says that Daggerdale is alive and well, now serving in the unwanted position as "buffer against the Empire of Nethril."

Presumably Dagger Falls stands strong as well.

-Now that I realize too late, this thread belongs in the Running the Realms section. I'll have it moved.

VERY COOL!

Actually, in my 3.5 campaign, the group dealt with some Shadevar, since I was running it in the Year of Rogue Dragons.

The group ran afoul of:
- Shadevar (who actually negotiated with and helped the group but in such a way that they felt like they made a deal with the devil)
- Zhents
- Cultists of the Dragon
- Shadowtheives
- Night Masks

So, yeah, Daggerdale was already a buffer area, and, 100 years later, it'd make sense that it was still thriving, and I can give some "credit" for that to the heroes in my 3.5 campaign.

Thanks guys.

I just read this in the guide...

Tethyamar STILL hasn't been retaken in the guide so, I was thinking of setting things up something like this:

1 - The hard work my 3.5 party did in Dagger Falls set the town up to simply SURVIVE the next 100 years. It would have fallen into ruin if not for the heroes. (making the area safe, making some tentative alliances with the Shadevar, etc)

2 - The dwarves reclaimed Tethyamar for a few decades but, due to limited supplies and the spell plague, were pressed and eventually lost their hold on the mines again. I may have it that the mines are retaken by a dragon.

This way, my players will feel like their characters did accomplish something just to preserve the status quo, yet, I can start from scratch with the "new" history of the realms without altering it too much.

I can't imagine not using Miniatures. Ok, I can imagine it, but I don't think I'd ever attempt it. Minis bring a much need, IMO, Level to the game, taking away a portion of the "But I was really over here" nonsense.

Ofcourse, when I say Minis, i mean any form of marker to denote field layout.
