Forgotten Realms Magic Items (Flavor Random Tables)

Hi All,

I wanted to know if anyone had developed a random Flavor table for Forgotten Realms Magic items like what we have seen in the 5E DMG.  While I know a lot about the Old Kingdoms of the FR, it would be pretty handy to have one to reference. This way when a PC finds an item, that item will have some story attached to it and firmly root the PC into the vast history of the FR.

Also I am thinking about weighting some of the items by rarity.  For example only rare and very rare items come from Netheril.

This way their can be some majesty or prestige when finding an item from this lost kingdom.  Almost the same as Valyrian Steel is in A Song of Ice and Fire/ Game of Thrones.

For example something like this

d20

Creator
1  Mulhorand
2–4 Netheril
5  Kingdom of Man
6  Shoon Imperium
7 Drow
8–10 Delzoun
11 Imaskari
12 Myth Drannor
13
14
15–17 Illefarn
18
19
20

Thank you for the help.

lost empires and grand history of the realms would help. a lot of missing kingdoms. also cults and religions should probably have a place on the list. several kingdoms had a multiracial make up as well.

dwarven

  delzoun

  belsimer

  high shanatar

  ohgrann

  haungdannar

  ammarindar

....others

orcish

  Vastar

  Uruk urkrypt

  Thar

  many arrows

..?

cults and religions would also add flavor to list

i had started a history list like this only for ruins to give flavor to dungeons themselves, idk where it is...

Thank you for the reply.

Here is what I have figured out, but those with more FR lore than I can chime in.  I figured this list could give a nice robust history to magic items

Creator
1  Mulhorand
2–4 Netheril
5  Kingdom of Man
6  Shoon Imperium
7 Drow

13 Halruaa
14 Cormanthyr

i would create a master table with subtables for further details [a lot of dwarf and elf kingdoms], or group them according to culture; netheril/halruaa for instance.

belsimer were farmer dwarves [hippies!] and the crown wars saw the division of the elves and creation of the fey'ri and drow.

i would lump in Zakhara and Maztica with Kara-Tur,

19 human; foreign

       1-4 Kara-Tur

       5-7 Zakhara

       8 Maztica

Narfell should be included

Elven nations of the crown wars; Aryvandaar, Keltormir, Miyeritar, Illefarn, Ilythiir, Shantel Othreier

Netheril; high and low

Cormanthyr

Ardeep

Gauntlgrym

Old Illusk

Phalorm, A.K.A. the Realm of Three Crowns, The Fallen Kingdom

After the Fall, the Netherese founded Anauria, Asram, and Hlondath. [also Halruaa]

the kingdom of man, Phalorm and the other allied realms pose a bit of a problem, diverse racial/cultural influence

I'm working on a Narfell-themed plot arc, and one of the things the PCs can find in an old Empire of Narfell ruin is a Netherese-made magic item.  Because the two empires existed side-by-side for a while, and because for variety.  It's going to do something Narfell-ish.
