| #1mykesfreeJul 01, 2015 8:01:18 | Hi All,
I wanted to know if anyone had developed a random Flavor table for Forgotten Realms Magic items like what we have seen in the 5E DMG. While I know a lot about the Old Kingdoms of the FR, it would be pretty handy to have one to reference. This way when a PC finds an item, that item will have some story attached to it and firmly root the PC into the vast history of the FR.
Also I am thinking about weighting some of the items by rarity. For example only rare and very rare items come from Netheril.
This way their can be some majesty or prestige when finding an item from this lost kingdom. Almost the same as Valyrian Steel is in A Song of Ice and Fire/ Game of Thrones.
For example something like this

orcish Vastar Uruk urkrypt Thar many arrows ..?
cults and religions would also add flavor to list
i had started a history list like this only for ruins to give flavor to dungeons themselves, idk where it is...

Here is what I have figured out, but those with more FR lore than I can chime in. I figured this list could give a nice robust history to magic items

i would lump in Zakhara and Maztica with Kara-Tur, 19 human; foreign 1-4 Kara-Tur 5-7 Zakhara 8 Maztica
Narfell should be included
Elven nations of the crown wars; Aryvandaar, Keltormir, Miyeritar, Illefarn, Ilythiir, Shantel Othreier
Netheril; high and low Cormanthyr Ardeep Gauntlgrym Old Illusk Phalorm, A.K.A. the Realm of Three Crowns, The Fallen Kingdom
After the Fall, the Netherese founded Anauria, Asram, and Hlondath. [also Halruaa]
the kingdom of man, Phalorm and the other allied realms pose a bit of a problem, diverse racial/cultural influence

Because the two empires existed side-by-side for a while, and because for variety. It's going to do something Narfell-ish.
