| #2The_SilverswordMar 23, 2011 4:34:44 | Ask and ye shall receive!
Not sure which Realms era you are playing in but this should still be relevant, even if youre playing in 4e Realms. Near as I can tell Ten Towns was mostly unaffected by the Spellplague.

| #3The_SilverswordMar 23, 2011 4:43:57 | And some maps of some of the towns. These are all from the Interactive Atlas. As far as I know these are the only ones that had official maps, but I'll look around its possible some of the others had maps as well in sourcebooks published after they stopped supporting the Interactive Atlas, lousy ******!

Hope this helps out some. |
| #4xSheeperxMar 23, 2011 12:15:13 | WOW man ty this is what i needed your a life saver looked on the net last night for over 2hrs looking for this all i can find was stuff done my hand |
| #5xSheeperxMar 23, 2011 12:35:26 | Ty for all your help but can u post a link to the interactive Atlas |
| #6JorunhastMar 23, 2011 16:01:00 | Those individual town maps look really gigantic, what I'd call cities. Are you sure these are official?
I've always pictured the 10-towns as small village-townships, not big cities. Even the Volo Guide to the North says that all of Icewind Dale has maybe 8000 people total.

| #7StiggerMar 23, 2011 16:21:10 | Nope, they're official. Most aren't more than a half-mile in diameter from what I could tell in the Atlas. I'm guessing the buildings are just on the small side and densely packed together, for whatever reason.
As to posting a link to the Atlas, you're out of luck. It was a piece of software that's over 10 years old and decidedly not available anywhere but a place like E-Bay, and from what I recall, the prices are nearly criminal. There was a petition or two to get WotC to authorize another update, or to at least create a new version, but nothing ever came of it sadly. So unless you're willing to either find someone willing to do something very illegal or don't mind giving up your first born child to obtain a copy legally, you're pretty much SOL.

| #8xSheeperxMar 23, 2011 21:47:20 | Ty for all the info |
| #9The_SilverswordMar 28, 2011 9:22:57 | I no longer have the Atlas disc, but I do have all the map files backed up, and a copy of Campaign Cartographer, which can read the files, so it works out. It was a great tool in its day, it would be nice if they brought it back and updated it, Hell they could make one for Abeir too and charge double! Id buy that! |
| #10StiggerMar 29, 2011 12:59:11 | I still have mine...
You using CC2 or CC3? CC/DD/CD3 myself. |
| #11The_SilverswordMar 29, 2011 15:23:28 | CC3, I did have the City Designer 3 as well, but I havnt been able to reinstall it after I had to wipe my system clean. Ive forgotten how to use CC3, ive been using Fractal Mapper, its easier to use, but it doesnt give you all the options CC3 does. |
| #12mikronMar 29, 2011 16:00:25 | Hi Sheeperx,
I suggest you have a look at the "Reader's Guide to the Legend of Drizzt". It's a hardcover book that was released a few years back and features detailed maps of Icewind Dale, the Verbeeg's Lair, Bryn Shander, Targos, Lonelywood, Termalaine, Easthaven, Bremen, Caer-Konig, Caer-Dineval, Good Mead, Dougan's Hole and Icingdeath's Lair.
There are descriptions of at least one important location in each town and a short written introduction (history, importance or whatnot) for all towns.
Cheers, Merv |
