I enjoyed it, but I was always bugged by a few things so I drifted away in favor of my own settings and Greyhawk. With the release of 4E I was a tad bit concerned about how WotC was going to fit FR into their new vision of D&D. Square pegs and round holes jumped to mind. Yet from what I have read in the novels leading up to the Spellplague I could tell the world of Toril was in for some (dare I say it!?) EPIC changes. I picked up the FRCG right after GenCon, and I just picked up the FRPG today. I would like to offer my kudos to all that put their work into the FRCG. I am liking it a lot. I flipped through the PG on my break and I like what I am seeing so far in that too. While I am running a (I hate this term) "homebrew" campaign right now I could very easily see myself switching over to a FR campaign at some point in the future. In the meantime I am already picking stuff out of the FRCG and adding it to my own world. With all the Complaint Trolls mashing away at their keyboards and pulping their mice with angry clicks I thought you might like to hear some positive feedback from an old school gamer that has been open minded enough to check out 4E and its associated products. |
