Dec 14, 2008 14:16:58 Hey guys as the titles tells you I do not know much about FR but I am trying to get in to the world. However, I real need some help because there is so much info it real just makes me run back to my safe homes in wow, eberron and dragonlance. My point is that I need to help. So I am going to slowly move into this by asking a question that hopeful the answer with give me a point to focus on and move out from there.

If there a area, nation or city that has it deal with a lot of magic. Like Dalaran from wow or Aundair from eberron. Sorry that I am using stuff not form the has nothing to do with FR but as I said it is all I real know at this time. Thanks a head of time for the help.

In the current 4th edition version of the Realms, the closest to this description might be Silverymoon in "the North." Or perhaps some of the Elvish cities. For an evil city, there is "Shade" for the Empire of Netheril, also in the North.

In the previous edition (3.5 edition rules), you could also use Silverymoon, but there was also a very large nation called Halruaa that heavily focused on magic and was ruled by mages. With the death of the Goddess of magic in 4E, though, that nation "blew up" along with all of its cities, Halarahh and Halagard being among the largest of the nation of Halruaa. Halarahh would be most like WoW's Dalaran I think.

Waterdeep
Thay
Shade enclave
Evereska
Cormanthyr
Aglarond
Syldiyuri (sp)

That's a few just off the top of my head, but there are many, many more to choose from.
