Not sure if it has been announced or not, but I was just curious if it will be expanded. Like adding more few more gods, races (deep gnome), and paragon.

As far as we know each setting will get only three books. A Player's Guide, Campaign Guide and Adventure. There is also further expansion on DDI. They have said if there is enough of a call they may bring out more books for the setting.

More gods is the last thing FR needs.

While it would be nice to see a little more detail on the gods (it seems like greater gods are the only ones worth giving any info for) we already have for FR, I don't think we need to see more any time soon.

Hopefully Dragon will be supplying the additional information on the deities rather than an additional hardcover book.

I believe Wizards have left the option open to produce material beyond the initial three supplements of any campaign world, if they see fit.

So an FRPG2 could happen - but there'd have to be a very good reason.

I honestly hope they don't release any more FR books. As of right now, the setting's the most tolerable it's been in years. If they keep adding more to it, they'll just end with the overly cluttered and inflexible mess they had in 3.5.

I think it's far more likely any extra material you might want for FR will be released under the general setting. Races and player material, especially, that kind of material has nothing FR-only about it.

They published an article on Auril a while back actually.

Well, some could claim that Eberron suffers from a similar intimidating-to-new-DMs "bloat" of lore and details as well...

I, for one, *love* options and details, because I know that I don't have to run my campaigns 100% faithfully to what's in the books. I can take what I want, and modify pretty much everything to suit my campaign concept. So it's pretty much as flexible as you want it to be, but if you're a DM whose busy and likes just to grab the stuff from the books, or simply likes to have that "cluttered" amount of detail in his campaigns, you now need to do the work yourself.

-According to Rich Baker, no, there will not be any additional official support for the Forgotten Realms.

Meh, that's a common misconception. FR, just like Eberron, Dragonlance or any setting out there I can think of that has had some splatbooks/novels on it, it's as cluttered as the DM wants it to be. The DM is the one who makes and runs the campaign, and is within his/her rights to change it as s/he sees fit. There's no canon police that will hold you responsible, and I've had an enjoyable (though short) game with nothing more than the FRCG and Silver Marches (the latter for environment, encounters etc).

I do not think that there will be an FRPG II. It would be far more cost effective for WotC to release that material through DDI.

This is a misstatement. There are no plans for further in-print books, but enough demand could change that. There will be additional official support for the Forgotten Realms in Dragon Magazine, as already evidenced by the Backdrop articles for Cormyr and Tarmalune, the article about Auril, Gontal and all that.

-And, at any moment, the world could end. I don't feel beholden to mention theoretical possibilities. The official policy is that there will not be any further print sourcebooks. If there are, then that's good news, there are, and the official policy is changed.

-This is indeed true.

You don't feel beholden to mention that Rich Baker directly said that further supplements will happen if demand is high enough, but have no problem with a misquoting of what he actually said?

If there are, then that's good news, there are, and the official policy is changed.

The official policy has always been "No more print books, unless demand warrants it." No change in policy has occurred.

-The policy, right now, is that there are two sourcebooks, one adventure, and that's it, as far as published books go. The Forgotten Realms followed this business model, and Eberron is also following this business model. He said that the possibility of more books being published was a possibility- a possibility, not a fact, not a certainty- as to leave a window open for future developments. When I make plans, and I am free over the weekend, I say that I am free for the weekend- I don't say that I am free, but in theory, the concept of the Rapture could actually be right, and that it could happen on the weekend, and as such, if the Rapture does indeed happen over the weekend, I'll be busy doing things that unRaptured people will be doing, like, perhaps picking up the massive amounts of shoes that might rain down from the heavens, because people don't need them anymore.
