May 20, 2009 13:31:17 This list is a compilation of all the years since the Spellplague and the major events that occurred during these years. I've used a variety of sources making this list, mostly the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide, Dragon articles, FR novels, and from Brian R. James' twitter postings. Some of its canon, some not, but I figured it'd be good to have it all in one place for all of you hungry for a timeline of the lore post-Spellplague. I've started it at 1385 DR, the Year of Blue Fire.

1385 Year of Blue Fire Spellplague erupts.

1386 Year of the Halfling's Lament The Arnrock erupted violently, wiping out the Quick Folk that had settled around the old crater. The shallow Gulph of Luiren is formed when the hin nation is swallowed up by the Great Sea.

1387 Year of the Emerland Ermine The Eldreth Veluuthra incite civil unrest in Tangled Trees and Semberholme, threatening civil war throughout Cormanthor. An Abeiran mountain range made entirely of dense prismatic glass appears along the Northride, sealing off Shadow Gap.

1388 Year of the Tanarukka Fiirnel'ther Vandree of House Vandree of Menzoberranzan assassinates her mother, Troken'ther, in order to assume leadership of her House. The Gundwynd line of Waterdeep nobility is ended as the Spellplague transforms the family into rampaging monstrosities.

1389 Year of the Forgiven Foes

1390 Year of the Walking Man

1391 Year of the Wrathful Eye The Eldreth Veluuthra, a militant group of human-despising elves, seized control of the Hullack Forest. Auril assimilates the Winged Mother's palace into her domain.

1392 Year of the Scroll

1393 Year of the Ring Sembian investors begin buying up land in the southern Dales. King Azoun issues a formal objection to the Dales Council.

1394 Year of Deaths Unmourned A brief conflict between Cormyr and the Eldreth Veluuthra of the Hullack Forest broke out, ending when King Azoun V turned his full attention to more pressing threats from neighboring Sembia and Netheril.

1395 Year of the Silent Death Plaguebringer's Blight - Sickness and pestilence spreads throughout the North, unleashed by the Putrescent Anathema. The Putrescent Anathema was unleashed from Stump Bog to the northeast of Waterdeep to spread sickness and pestilence throughout the region, hitting the temple-farm of Goldenfields particularly hard. Urmlaspyr, considering allegiance to Cormyr, withdraws those plans when Sakkors enclave parks itself above the city.

1396 Year of the Secret Marriage of King Azoun V of Cormyr to Nalara Marliir the daughter of Lord High Marshal Dauneth Marliir and Krystin Lhal.

1397 Year of the Quill

1399 Year of the Fallen Friends Caladnei, Mage Royal of Cormyr, finally succumbs to years-long struggle with Spellplague; succeeded by Laspeera Inthré.

1400 Year of Lost Ships Sembia is officially a part of the Netherese Empire. Krehlan "Blackstaff" Arunsun, son of Khelben Arunsun and Laeral Silverhand, assumes the role of Archmage of Waterdeep.

1403 Year of the Hidden Harp

1404 Year of the Sceptered One Council of Five agrees to invade the Moonshae Isles. Caer Westphal is siezed and Snowdown Isle subjected to Amnian rule.

1407 Year of the Halls Unhaunted Unexpected death of High Queen Alicia Kendrick. Carrathal loyalists ignite uprisings in Caer Corwell and Caer Callidyrr.

1408 Year of the Solitary Cloister Lionel Carrathal claims the throne of Corwell in challenge to newly ascended High Queen Feithline Kendrick of Callidyrr.

1409 Year of True Omens An epidemic ravaged the metallic dragons of the Copper Mountains, with several survivors fleeing south. One, Skalnaedyr, became the first of the Dragon Princes of Murghom.

1411 Year of the Wrathful Vizier

1416 Year of the Enthroned Puppet

1418 Year of the Lords' Coronation The Shadovar of Netheril 'accidentally conquered' Featherdale after years of Sembian investments into the dale. Xenfyrth's Abyss is discovered in Old Shanatar by an adventuring company.

1420 Year of the Dark Goddess Unable to subvert their neighbor as bloodlessly as Featherdale, Sembian mercenaries out of Yhaunn overrun Tasseldale.

1421 Year of the Walking Trees A Sembian mercenary army arrives in Chandler’s Cross, slaughtering many folk of the Scar and scattering the rest.

1422 Year of Advancing Shadows Battledale came under heavy attack by forces from Netheril, forcing the evacuation of Essembra. Purple Dragon Knights of Cormyr moved into High Dale to stave off Sembian advances upon their land.

1423 Year of Thundering Hosts Velen secedes from Tethyr. The volcano Mount Kolimnis in the central Aphrunn Mountains erupted, burying Gildenglade under hundreds of feet of ash and mud.

1424 Year of the Dog-Eared Journal Velen officially becomes an independently recognized duchy in its own right.

1425 Year of Seven Sisters The Simbul is thought to have perished in the fire that destroyed the god Velsharoon. The age-old Dales Compact was reaffirmed with Myth Drannor and the Standing Stone was restored.

1428 Year of the Elfqueen's Joy The Seven Burghers of Harrowdale announced a formal alliance with Myth Drannor and renamed Harrowdale Town New Velar.

1430 Year of Stalking Horrors

1435 Year of the Silent Bell

1436 Year of Silent Shadows Several Cormyrean cities bordering Netheril and Sembia are blanketed by an unnatural miasma, blocking out the sun.

1437 Year of the Silent Flute

1439 Year of the Silent Tear

1440 Year of Azuth's Woe After nearly two decades of non-aggression, Sembia marches a large mercenary army against the Dalelands at Archenbridge. The Swords, cloaked autocrats that ruled Archendale were unmasked and found to be in Sembia's pocket. Archendale staved off incorporation into Sembia only by becoming aware of the danger and making common cause with the free dales.

1441 Year of Resurrections Rampant Cormyr honors its alliance with the Dales, marching troops from Daerlun and Highcastle to besiege Saerb and Urmlaspyr.

1445 A golemwork clock called the Timehands is finished by a collaboration of Waterdhavian guilds and installed into the Lords' Palace.

1446 Year of the Queen's Honor Deep gnolls are spotted hunting in the Northtrees March. It is unknown what menace drove the hahlorkh to the surface.

1449 Year of the Godly Invitation

1450 Year of Holy Thunder Between 1385 and this year is known as the Second Era of Skyfire. It was this year that the djinn Calim and the efreet Memnon were banished to their home planes.

1453 Tai Shing, a Shou here who arose in Phsant and later became Suzerain of Thesk dies.

1459 Year of the Forged Sigil Azalar Falconhand resigns his lordship of Shadowdale, passing the Pendant of Ashaba to young shieldmaiden Addee Ulphor.

1462 Year of the Elves' Weeping

1469 Year of Splendors Burning The Children's Massacre occurred in Tethyr, with the slaying of all Queen Anais' nieces and nephews, with the exception of Ysabel Linden.

1475 Year of the Final Stand Draeven rapparees claim credit for the fiery destruction of Dauntinghorn Manor in Teziir.

1477 Year of the Purloined Statue

1478 Year of the Dark Circle The Black Robes, a quorum of city judges in Waterdeep, welcomes the tiefling Kylynne Silmerhelve into their ranks.

1479 Year of the Ageless One Current campaign date.

1480 Year of Deep Water Drifting

May 20, 2009 13:32:41 -There are various years missing from your chronology. The Roll of Years covers the 104 years that the setting was bumped up, and then some, ending in 1,600 DR. So, those can be added in without entries as well.

May 20, 2009 13:43:28 I'm aware of the missing years, and they were omitted purposefully, since they aren't either named yet in any sourcebooks I could find, or there was no significant event that has been given for a specific year. This list is a work in progress, obviously, and is intended to leave room for updating as more Realmslore about the 100-odd years we're missing is filled in.

I'm aware of the missing years, and they were omitted purposefully, since they aren't either named yet in any sourcebooks I could find, or there was no significant event that has been given for a specific year. This list is a work in progress, obviously, and is intended to leave room for updating as more Realmslore about the 100-odd years we're missing is filled in.

-No, all years up to 1,600 DR have been given names in the Roll of Years.

We already had a timeline thread...

-I'm not merging the two because the OP said that he/she is also including the FRCG, online DRAGON magazine, and novels.

May 21, 2009 10:15:52 Hey, Nyluenatha, I don't know if you've read much from the novels yet--do you want folks to send you GHotR styled entries for stuff we find in them? The Tethyrian political situation and the details of the Children's Massacre sure got a lot of attention (and a great cliffhanger of a development) in Jenna Helland's The Fanged Crown, and there was a Vaasa sponsored monstrous attack on Hulberg in Rich Baker's Swordmage, to name just two things that spring to mind.

It's confusing to have two timelines, though.
I can add the non-twitter timeline events, and give them another color to distinguish them (or add the source, if known).

I'm an advocate of re-coloring Brian's dates from the others to keep it less-confusing, or even going the extra mile and having different colors for each source.

It's a blending of canon and non-canon, though, where there's no distinction made between the two.

It is a lot of work, true... but it's exactly what I said people would start doing and it'll lead to a lot of confusion. No offense to the original poster, but it'd be improved 100% if sources were clarified per item, or at least an indication of canon vs. non-canon.

I added color codes so it is easier to see what sources items are from. Also added Dragon references.
