How would an archlich at a necromancy academy give insight to his students about the inner workings of the weave and the staple necromancy spell Raise Dead?

What parts of the components must be headed to get a succesful casting? How does the weave empower the animus and soul of a dead body?
If there is a relation to other necromantic spells such as Animate Dead, Clone or Enervation how would you explain them?
How does a living fleshy caster manipulating negative energies ward himself from it?

-Well, it opens a channel for the dead spirit/soul to return to the body, it it wants. The material components are diamonds, so the diamonds, perhaps, act like a "focus" (like a magnifying glass and light) between the spirit/soul and the body, opening a "doorway" to return to it.

-All in all, I think that the main job of spells that bring others back to life is to proverbially "find and call" the dead spirit/soul. They don't even know that they're necessarily dead. Look at Jakk, in the Erevis Cale books, when his dead spirit/soul is shown in the afterlife.
