From what others have posted on this forum, half-vamps have more to their advantage than fulls. Why would half of something be better than a whole of something? It's like saying 50 cents can buy you more than a dollar bill can...wtf? Every novel I've read, and every movie I've seen, they're these vampires warlords, achieving their rank by being born a pure blood. Do FR vampires have any shadow magic of the sort? Or are they simple built in just being sensitive to light and some enhanced phyical features in the all so repetitive unoriginal way?

No idea what you're talking about. Going by stat bonuses alone, Vampires are far better then Half-Vampires.

Half-Vampires get +2 Str, +2 Dex, +2 Cha. Vampires get +6 Str, +4 Dex, +2 Int, +2 Wis, +4 Cha.

Half-Vampires get Improved Initiative as a bonus Feat. Vampires get Alertness, Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Improved Initiative, and Lightning Reflexes as bonus Feats.

Half-Vampires get a +2 bonus to Bluff, Hide, Listen, Move Silently, and Spot. Vampires get a +8 bonus to Bluff, Hide, Listen, Move Silently, Search, Sense Motive, and Spot.

And so on.

Alright, hold on, I'm going to find the topic and then copy/paste it back to this. And the reason I know that I saw this, is because I am irratated by the thought, and I don't think too much about something unless it happened.

Halfvampires cheat abit by being able to walk in the sun though. That and being a living creature gives them an edge over their fully vampiric brethren. But otherwise they are at a distinct disadvantage being slower, less strong and having lesser perceptive abilities.

Yeah, it was something along the lines of fitting into society better. Other than just being in the sun though, I don't see how that would help, they need to feed still I presume? It's like saying, someone only murdered 1 person, and this other guy murdered 2 people. Does that make it ok for for the 1st murderer to fit into soceity because he does not have that extra whole number over his head?

Not all Half-Vampires need to drink blood. Though I suspect that even the ones that do can get away with drinking animal blood and such. And even if you have to drink a humanoids blood, it doesn't mean you have to kill them.

As for Half-Vampires being better then Vampires, I'm guessing whoever said that meant with regards to having a PC race. Half-Vampires have a +2 Level Adjustment. Vampires have a +8 Level Adjustment.

Not all halfvamps need blood to feed.

But those that do are just as monstrous in their acts as full vampires. So they need to take all the same steps as any sane vampire would do to feed as unnoticed as possible. Solutions abound:
*Feed of the blood of cattle or other animals
*Hide the feeding in acts of passion
*Find a willing bloodpuppet (someone who willingly serves as a bloodsack for the vampire)
*Use magic and illusions to cloak the act or let people forget
*Buy blood from a butcher's house

There's also a magic bowl that produces blood. I forget what it's called, or in what supplement it can be found, but I know it exists as I was considering creating a Dhampir character for an epic campaign and the DM suggested that to me (Dhampir's are the Ravenloft version of the Half-Vampire. They're way tougher and like the Vampire, also have +8 LA).

-There is also a mask in the DMG, and a magic item wielded by a Troll described in the FRCS (Arcc, I think was his name?) that leak blood.
