| #1SpacekaseAug 27, 2008 15:51:27 | Well the index in the new book pretty much sucks. Does anyone know if there a more comprehensive index? If there isn't we should start one. I am far from a publisher, but WotC can't seem to do this part of their job right, we will have to do it. Since they are firing rather than hiring, I'm going to guess that this won't change. I actually thought that the book was good over all, otherwise I wouldn't want an index. Does anyone have an idea about how to do this? |
| #2GreenKnightAug 27, 2008 16:05:33 | Nope, although generally speaking, I think it'd be a great idea if a general Realms catalogue were to be constructed by the fans, which included entries for every character, god, nation, etc in the Realms, and book and page cites where mentions of those things can be found. Here's an example of what I mean. For instance, say I want to look up all the information available for the character Tara Kolyana. I type her name in the search field and this is what I get. I'm told what books she's in, the specific pages, where I can find her stats, where I can find artwork of her, and I get references to other items associated with her (the church she's a Cleric of, the country she lives in, etc). Something like that for the Realms would sure be nice. |

Edit: Disregard that. It was an index for the 4e Players Handbook. The same guy though is going to do one for the FRCG though, but it's not done yet. The website is www.thegamerdome.com HOpe that helps |

I had the same idea recently, would be much work - but could be worth it. |

| #8banpaiAug 29, 2008 8:04:06 | If only they had sticked with the plan to give a pdf with each product that way you would just use a pdf search. The idea of a FR encyclopedia would be nice though. |
| #9lord_karsusAug 29, 2008 10:26:47 | The idea of a FR encyclopedia would be nice though. -TSR/WotC once entertained the idea of a Forgotten Realms encyclopedia, but scrapped the idea before anything was ever made of it. The plans for a Forgotten Realms-specific Wikipedia, as mentioned by the designers, would probably be something similar to an all-encompassing encyclopedia. |

| #12banpaiAug 29, 2008 14:24:33 | -What is DI? Digital Initiative .....the online subscription the try to sell us. |
| #13lord_karsusAug 29, 2008 14:33:29 | Digital Initiative .....the online subscription the try to sell us. -Oh, okay. Well, yeah, they said that they were hoping to make a Forgotten Realms-specific Wikipedia-like site. So, since that's digital, I'd assume it's part of their digital initiative. |

| #15chapienAug 29, 2008 16:06:55 | Also helpful, but not for the Realms just for D&D in general is http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page Just thought I'd add that in:D |
