-For those of you who don't know (and, given the amount of community...participation I've been trying to get out of everyone, I hope this is a minority), our Forgotten Realms boards are among the most popular and active sections of the WotC boards.

-Here are the numbers.

-So, everyone deserves a pat on the back. I encourage everyone to continue visiting and posting, and in fact, I implore everyone to do even more! Post all of your questions! Post all of your answers! Post all of your opinions! When we get our forums split, I expect both to be in the top percentile of activity!

-Not a clue. I asked Mike, and he hasn't replied yet.

That goes to show those who always say FR is not that popular. If only we had this numbers a couple years before.

-Participation has steadily increased...The numbers might be a little skewed, because we had six different sections in the past, as opposed to one, but it is my own personal opinion that, when added up, the six different sections didn't amount to the traffic we are getting now. If you figure each section had six active threads on average, that'd be thirty active threads in a day, as opposed to the 41 we have now.

Well, arcanist, you could have warned me that the first stuff on that list reads ... CB: Defenders, CB: Strikers, CB: Leaders, and CB: Controllers ... all this 4E mumbojumbo

I'm still looking for the right tool to hit any of my players in my FR campaigns who comes up with something like wizardly "artillery". Alas, they are all sane enough not to touch 4E (so far).

What kind of forum split are we talking about here?

Personally I would prefer three:

Forgotten Realms (with the implied focus on 4E)
Forgotten Realms Novels (to excessive spoilers in other forums, among other things)
Forgotten Realms Previous Editions (so I and others have somewhere to discuss 3.X material, and/or share our own FR-specific 3.X creations and additions..specifically since Dragon is now exclusively 4E, and would-be freelancers cannot hope to share let alone publish FR-based material elsewhere)

Bascally we're talking crunch vs. fluff and if you perfer you can qualify your edition in the thread title or post.

The only thing wrong with it, as far as I can tell, is that it has been over-engineered to the point where all the flavor has been sucked right out of it.

When a game becomes too perfectly balanced, then there isn't really much of a reason to even bother picking your class, eh?

As do I. But that isn't because I am obsessive, it is because my time is a precious commodity and I don't have enough of it to spread myself over multiple forums so I stick to the one that is most important to me. I can't speak for His Lordship but I was just trying to suggest that Focus may not imply Obsession... just.. hmm... efficiency!

Although considering how many times I hit refresh during the 6 or so hours I couldn't get at the forums today, maybe I wrong.

Pretty self-explanatory, if you ask me. :P

I, on the other hand, do not have an 'online persona', and yet... I pretty much ONLY frequent this board at WotC.

I tried out the Eberron board, but I think they were kinda snobbish... the only person who bothered to respond to me over there was Charles Phipps - and I can 'get him' here. ;)

As do I. But that isn't because I am obsessive, it is because my time is a precious commodity and I don't have enough of it to spread myself over multiple forums so I stick to the one that is most important to me.

Same goes for me. I don't want to spend all my free time on messageboards--I do have other interests.

I'm happy the forums have finally been split.

Excellent work, Karsus. Thank you for the time you've put in on the Forum's behalf.
