| #1aspectofsalvarisJun 12, 2008 12:14:22 | for my new adventure i thought of having a fortress occupied by a mad cullt of the demon lord got any ideas |
| #2lord_karsusJun 12, 2008 12:20:23 | -Okay...Well, first of all:
|
| #3merrikcaleJun 12, 2008 12:21:29 | wouldn't the demon lord be Yeenoghu? |
| #4suin_bahhar_02Jun 15, 2008 7:48:33 | Yeenoghu is a dirty bastard. And so are all gnolls if played right. I like my gnolls as characterful low level threats. Oh, and include a flind wielding a flindbar! They are like Gnoll packleaders but with a bit of a kickass martial art master thrown in, wielding flindbars like nunchucks in a whirl of disarming wood and furry limbs. Include some hyena's. Utter bonesnapping and bloody carnage unsues. |
| #5lord_karsusJun 27, 2008 13:21:36 | -I usually picture Gnolls with flails, myself. |
| #6suin_bahhar_02Jun 27, 2008 13:28:25 | Never seen 2nd edition Flinds? They appear to have been scrapped for 3edition. I found a nice conversion of them here. |
| #7nymrohdJun 27, 2008 13:28:32 | Well gnolls and yeenoghu have one major tie-in I can think of and that involes the Fanged Shield of Shyk Korort stolen from the Shaaran gnoll tribes by none other than Iryklathagra. |
| #8nymrohdJun 27, 2008 13:30:16 | Flinds were converted in MMIII pg. 62 |
| #9suin_bahhar_02Jun 27, 2008 13:49:38 | Ah, gracias. |
| #10nymrohdJun 27, 2008 13:54:58 | If you would even consider it, running an adventure against Yeenoghu in 4E is completely viable since he and his cult have been stated out. |
| #11merrikcaleJun 28, 2008 10:28:34 | Well gnolls and yeenoghu have one major tie-in I can think of and that involes the Fanged Shield of Shyk Korort stolen from the Shaaran gnoll tribes by none other than Iryklathagra. the Shaar has taken a 4e beating though |
| #12lord_karsusJun 28, 2008 10:57:11 | the Shaar has taken a 4e beating though -It collapsed if I recall, correct? |
| #13merrikcaleJun 28, 2008 12:46:00 | -It collapsed if I recall, correct? yup |
| #14nymrohdJun 28, 2008 15:03:20 | Ah yes, the Eastrift or something? I don't think the entire Shaar collapsed, probably just the lands east of the landrise. |
| #15merrikcaleJun 29, 2008 22:11:30 | Ah yes, the Eastrift or something? I don't think the entire Shaar collapsed, probably just the lands east of the landrise. I dunna know abouts that |
| #16lord_karsusJun 30, 2008 21:51:39 | -Check out MT's 4e Changes compilation thread. |
| #17merrikcaleJul 03, 2008 21:49:33 | doesn't everyone look at that. Its like reading an obiturary |
| #18lord_karsusJul 03, 2008 21:51:53 | -Yeah, well... |
| #19merrikcaleJul 04, 2008 21:05:25 | I kind of like gnolls. Always thought they were as fun as the more popular hobgoblins and stuff |
| #20rinonalyrna_fathomlinJul 06, 2008 16:17:07 | doesn't everyone look at that. Its like reading an obiturary No kidding. :-p |
| #21lord_karsusJul 07, 2008 20:50:42 | -Yeah, well... -Anyway, concerning Gnolls, my sister has this third-party book...Hamunaptra. Their take on Gnolls was very interesting. Egyptified. |
| #22merrikcaleJul 07, 2008 20:57:32 | -Yeah, well... makes sense, they are hyaneas after all |
| #23lord_karsusJul 07, 2008 20:59:06 | makes sense, they are hyaneas after all -Yeah. The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't have any kind of 'celestial' aspect to them. I always envisioned such Anubis-like creatures as being akin to Aasimar. |
