| #1xhazerdusxOct 16, 2008 22:51:42 | I read somewhere else on the forums that Gondsmen were the warforged of FR. Where can I get more information on these gondsmen? Also, if that's entirely false, how do warforged fit into FR if one of my players wanted to play one? |
| #2lord_karsusOct 16, 2008 22:54:31 | -That's not entirely true, but...Information on Gondsmen can be found in Faiths and Pantheons. |

| #5BadCatManOct 16, 2008 23:32:02 | Gondsmen were originally the specialty priests (clerics with some extras) of Gond in Faiths & Avatars, 2nd edition. That is, they were just ordinary human clerics. In Faiths & Pantheons, 3rd edition, the Gondsman become the clockwork robot buddy of the Techsmith prestige class, which was for arcane or divine casters that worshipped Gond and were interested in gadgets and firearms and constructs. That's not quite the same as a Warforged - the Warforged is distinctly a golem, the Gondsman a steampunk clockwork robot - but it's a popular choice for people wishing to place Warforged in FR. Other choices are generic golems and other constructs belonging to random wizards, relics of Imaskar or Raumathar, terracotta soldiers from Kara-Tur, or Basal Golems from Bloodforges in the Utter East. Search around the boards and you'll find plenty of discussion about this. Most Gondsmen (either version) were found in Lantan, the island nation where Gond was the state religion amongst the human and gnomish populations. Regrettably, Lantan was destroyed for 4e, despite being uniquely original and almost completely undetailed. ![]() |

Really would not be a bad idea...Imaskar...Illefarn...I think most would work...maybe they were sealed in a great armory and when the spellplague happened they were released... To me...Maug=Warforge. |
