| #1laerius_shadowlightJul 07, 2008 16:59:04 | Hi, i think of trying a mixes spellcaster - Cleric (for divine spellcasting and turn undead) and sorcerer, warmage or wizard (for arcane magic). Later on I#d like to advance as Mystic Theurgist or some of the divine related arcane pestige classes. But this depends also on how the character evolves and what the group needs. I only lack a good race for this right now - I'd imagined the following: - Level Adjustment +1 - Bonus to two of the three: WIS, INT, CHA (preferably WIS and CHA) - Malus two one or both of STR and CON Does anybody know a good race for this that is also available in the FR? I until now only found Sartyr - but we already have one in our party .... Thank you very much, Eledriel Darkfire PS: If anybody has other suggestions (e.g. which combination you think best of the above arcane spellcasters, good feats, ...) for this character, I'd also like to hear ... |

| #3lord_karsusJul 07, 2008 17:44:00 | -Tiefling. |
| #4the_shamanJul 07, 2008 17:45:52 | Draconic sun elf (int) / star elf (Cha, in unapproachable east). Is Malus the opposite of bonus? |
| #5lord_karsusJul 07, 2008 17:47:17 | Is Malus the opposite of bonus? -Yes. |
| #6BelorinJul 07, 2008 18:56:34 | How about Genasi? Bel |
| #7laerius_shadowlightJul 08, 2008 11:07:12 | Is Malus the opposite of bonus? Yes. Sorry if it was the wrong word in English. How it's called officially? Draconic sun elf (int) / star elf (Cha, in unapproachable east). Tenplates are a very good idea I have not thought of. Any other idea of a good template? |
| #8lord_karsusJul 09, 2008 18:59:55 | Yes. Sorry if it was the wrong word in English. How it's called officially? -No, that's right. |
| #9the_shamanJul 09, 2008 19:58:37 | Yes. Sorry if it was the wrong word in English. How it's called officially? Well... for a +1 draconic is pretty solid, although I'd say that depending on the class, Necropolitan (LMortis, no LA, becomes undead) can be good too. Let's see, what else... - Deep Imaskari can be decent wizards (+2 int, -2 Dex, in Underdark) - Mephlings can be ok as sorcerers or bards except for the LA +1 (Manual of the planes, bonuses to cha, penalty to int) - Catfolk can be ok bards/sorcerers/warlocks (+ dex, cha, LA +1, Races of the Wild) - Uldra can be ok for both classes (+wis, cha, - str, LA +1 , Frostburn) - the Feytouched template from Fiend Folio gives +2 cha, -2 constitution. Frankly, it's somewhat unimpressive mechanically, and I'd rather consider the half-fey template from the same book despite the +2 - and talking about +2 templates, the Phrenicone is imo a classic if you can buy them off. + Int, + Wis, + cha, SR (PR, but the two are usually equivalent) and a bucketful of freely-scaling spell (psi-) likes for utility, defense, and kicking the metaphysical snot of anyone who gives you trouble. If you can buy off the LA, I can't recommend it enough. |

You can use light as a spell like ability which is handy if your looking into very decrepit dungeon fishing. Plus there is no ability hindered by the Aasimar temlate leaving you to put a few point in strength so your cleric and still swing a sword if you want him to. Plus you just look like an angel.. |
| #11GreenKnightJul 09, 2008 20:36:32 | Get the Outsider Wings Feat and you'll really look like an angel. |
| #12lord_karsusJul 09, 2008 21:44:22 | -Or shop at Victoria's Secret. |
| #13GreenKnightJul 10, 2008 1:32:04 | Or drink a Red Bull. ![]() |

| #15xhereticxJul 10, 2008 17:04:04 | Or drink a Red Bull. Monster destroys Red Bull any day. |
| #16lord_karsusJul 10, 2008 17:42:47 | -Yeah, it gives you wings...Whatever the hell that means. I never had one of those energy drink things, so... |
| #17xhereticxJul 10, 2008 17:46:14 | -Yeah, it gives you wings...Whatever the hell that means. I never had one of those energy drink things, so... I have, they all taste the same. |
| #18lord_karsusJul 11, 2008 21:37:13 | -Another good combination would be the Shade Shadow Adept. Get all those darkness benefits and all... |
| #19xhereticxJul 11, 2008 22:01:06 | I can't believe nobody has mentioned them but, Fey'Ri (sure it's gonna be hard to fit them in, but you can think can't you?). |
| #20lord_karsusJul 17, 2008 21:25:18 | -Using rules from Unearth Arcana, you can make up a race that gives you a plus to Intelligence/Wisdom by "buying" Level Adjustments. Or something to that effect. |
