| #1purple_dragonJun 17, 2009 11:15:25 | I have been using Open Grave, in particular, the Bloodtower "undead lair". According to the very cool Cormyr 4e map from Dragon, the Bloodtower is located in the Gritstone Moorland, which is situation at the southwest portion of the Dragonmere, near Proskur and Eversult. I am looking for information on this region, and have found none, save a few links to a national park in England. I am certain the region was not even on a previous edition map before. With that said, is there a history for this place, or is it safe to assume that the region was created after the Spellplague and the lowering of the Lake of Dragon's waters? Thanks. |

AFAIK, there is nothing on that region. ![]() The only thing I could possibly add is that there were ANCIENT Batrachi ruins in the Tunlands (just north of that region), and the Batrachi apparently were masters of gate-travel, which I have theorized weakens the 'planer barriers' over time. What that means is that anywhere the Batrachi were active was much more likely to have had 'leakage' from Abeir spill-in. Which means you can do whatever you want with the place, and not have to worry about stepping all over previous canon. ![]() EDIT: You may want to peruse THIS - Maerantede (tiny realm) appears to have been located in this region as well, and you can have fun figuring-out what has transpired for it in the past century. Edit: Figure I'd give you a visual of what used to be there, circa 1375 DR: ![]() |

Because the road between Proksur and Elversult has always been called... the Overmoor Trail ![]() So no, the moor is not a creation of the Spellplague or Batrachi leakage (unless you want it to be in your campaign of course) |
| #4markustay63Jun 17, 2009 17:46:56 | Well, not the moor itself, but rather 'whatever' happens to live there now. Thanks for that, BTW... adding that to my notes (and will make sure future maps show those moors...) All locations of that map are canon - I just found a couple of those recently in Realms of Infamy and thought I'd share. I got at least five new locales from that source; not bad... not bad at all... ![]() |
