| #1aziAug 21, 2008 21:13:45 | Since I'm just now returning to D&D, I'm looking at starting the campaign in Loudwater. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to place H1, H2 and H3 in the area? The conversion articles written for Dungeon suggested the Cormyr/Dalelands area for the first two modules, but I'd rather stay closer to home for a while. Thank you in advance. |

There are plenty of forested and mountainous areas that are adjacent to each other, so you should have no trouble finding a suitable area to place Winterhaven, Shadowfell Keep, Thunderspire Labyrinth and the Pyramid of Shadows. For example, you could place these locations north of Loudwater, along the Graypeak Mountains where they border the High Forrest. (See the map on page 10 of the FR Campaign Guide). Best of luck to you! |

The fluff will be funny though... anyways the High forest is perfect for TPoS, Nether MTS are great for Thunderspire, and KOTS can possibly be inserted at "Xammux".... |

I realize that the Realms conversion places them in the Thunder Peaks - I mentioned that. However, I want to start my campaign in Loudwater, and don't want to go half a continent away just to run the modules. Hence the request for suggestions on where to place them in the area I plan to run my campaign in. @Mr Miscellany: Thank you for your suggestions. They are much appreciated. I'll look the area over for suitable spots. ![]() |

Personally, I put the 4e starting town of Fallcrest in the Vale itself and am currently running the Kobold Hall (called Scalegloom Hall in the Realms) adventure as a former Netheril nobles estate (left over from their first go around as a power). I located the Hall in the Far Forest. From there the group will probably head down to Loudwater. As for Winterkeep and the rest, the mountain I mentioned are called the Talons (or something like that) and I also think that Markus has a map with those locations put in (minus Fallcrest I believe though). Hope this helps. |

I'll have to hunt down the thread. And I apologize for sounding snippy this morning - the hot water knob on my shower broke this morning and having to take a cold shower left me cranky. |
