| #1TheriseJun 23, 2008 11:42:54 | So I'm reading Ed Greenwood's latest Knights of Myth Drannor series, and I'm about halfway through the Swords of Dragonfire novel, when it occurs to me that I don't recall ever seeing this monster called a "hargaunt" before. But it does weirdly seem familiar... I've tried looking through all of my books, and I must be missing it somewhere... or is the Hargaunt a new monster? At first I thought Ed was giving us a story from the "old days", but he's put in elements that didn't show up until later 3.5E. So am I missing the hargaunt in some distant reference, and there's a statted-up description? Or is this a "new" monster for the Realms, even though it's an "early" story, timeline-wise? |
