Help to Realmsify a quote

May 11, 2010 9:22:56 There's a line (from BioShock) that I want to adapt for use by a character in my campaign, but for obvious reasons it needs to be tweaked a bit. The line is:

I came to this place to build the impossible. You came to rob what you could never build - a Hun gaping at the gates of Rome.

I need something to sub in for the Huns and Rome. "Hun" could be replaced with orc, except that the NPC in question is a half-orc and drew much of his inspiration from the kingdom of Many-Arrows... so maybe goblin or troll instead? I'd prefer a nationality or culture to a race, but nothing comes to mind.

As for a replacement for Rome... maybe Myth Drannor? Shanatar?

I'm also considering "a Luskan gaping at the gates of Neverwinter," but I'm not sure if Neverwinter is grand enough or Luskan low enough for that to be an apt comparison.

Using Silverymoon: "...a tribal leader gaping at the mysterious witchcraft of Silverymoon's Moonbridge."

Using Myth Drannor: "...a Cormyrean peasant gaping at the crystalline towers of Myth Drannor."
