#1 HobbitFan Jul 28, 2014 15:07:13	There will doubtless be new and returning players and Dms perusing the forums as 5E releases.  To help them out as they discover the Realms, it seems like a couple threads might help out.  The first a FAQ, focusing on information for newbies needing an introduction and then returning players needing a re-introduction.  The second maybe a Q and A thread?   What do you guys think, would this be helpful thing to do?

#5 dungeondude Aug 03, 2014 22:30:11	It would be great to see something....    I'm the same, once 4th came out, I backed away from playing all together. Really NO clue on Realms Lore and events right now.   I used to own EVERYTHING! Gosh.
#6 dungeondude Aug 27, 2014 21:40:53	Just to see if there's interest in updating this, what if we went through the current materials released (play test modules included), and just started updating specific areas for the new Realms players? Granted, it looks to be most of the material is based on the Sword Coast area, but it would put things all in one place. For example, listing the particulars of  Daggerford, and the surrounding areas.   Just a thought!!
#7 dungeondude Sep 04, 2014 22:19:05	I was going to start a new thread, but I figured I'd just throw this information here first and see what happens.   As I've said, I'm getting back into the Realms. To help get my "Realmslore" up and pick an area to play, I've done the following.     First, I read through the Sundering! I enjoyed all of the books, and the different writing styles.   Next, I picked-up Ed Greenwoods "Eliminsters Forgotten Realms". What's cool, is that the book is really "non-edition" specific, and has sweet information. Look for a used copy on Amazon, I bought one with my AMAZON PRIME account, for $16,85, shipping included!   I then checked out some of the PDF adventures on the Wizards site. I purchased the D&D GHOSTS OF DRAGONSPEAR Castle adventure. It's using one of the older D&D NEXT ruleset, but it gave me a TON of great, current information! So, I was able to use that, plus Eds books to make that my first new Forgotten Realms campaign area!   For added lore, I purshased on Ebay Volos Guide to the Sword Coast (cost me $8 plus shipping), just giving me more details. I also picked-up Volos Guide to the North for another $10.    Finially, I've been reading the forums over at  Candlekeep. Oh, and I just started reading the Companions 1 book, Night of the Hunter. Salvatore wrote. This was especially true, when I read the first book in the Sundering. Imagine my surprise, when I discovered, FREE audio books, on Amazon! They are little mini-stories, roughly 40 minutes to maybe a few hours long! There are like 12 of them! Here's the one narrated by Ice-T (seriously), but below, you can see the other books. The one Wil Wheaton did, is awesome!
