Was wondering if anyone had changed the setting of this module to the Realms, and if so where you placed it. Just curious to see what, if, other people have done. Am currently running my group of new players through this module, and planned on having it lead into Vor Rukoth (which I also have yet to place).

I haven't run it yet but, if I did, here are a couple of the places I would consider (with my specific choice largely to be determined by my plans for the rest of the campaign).

1. Any of the lands of ancient Narfell

The Nar were renowned for their traffic with evil outsiders so any of their lands (Impiltur and east and south of their) would make sense.

2. Around the East Rift

The exiled baatezu, Gargauth, had his own city (as mentioned in 2E's Powers & Pantheons) in the south. It would make for a good Vor Rukoth and the village in the Slaying Stone could just be one of the city's satellites.

If you can tell us more about your plans for the campaign I am sure some more people might chip in with some more specific suggestions.

Plan? Do I look like a guy with a plan?
Seriously though...the game was put together pretty quickly, and after reading The Slaying Stone  and examining the open ended nature of it and the available plot hooks, I quickly came to the conclusion that I could tie the game into the Vor Rukoth supplement. The players are about 20-25% through The slaying Stone so I still have time to decide what direction I really want to go. Feel free to throw out some ideas for plot lines and location information. I'd love to have another perspective of things to go over.

The party thus far?
Aiden Solain, 1st Eladrin Swordmage
Hargrim Stoutmantle, 1st Dwarf Warlord (Tac)
Puck Piperdale, 1st Halfling Rogue
Marakesh, 1st Human Wizard

Then I would go with East Rift.

It's a great region. The formation of Underchasm can explain why Vor Rukoth has been recently uncovered. The existence of a dwarven kingdom means you always have an excuse for a dungeon (it's always easy to create an abandoned dwarven mine when you're stuck for ideas).

It's also a good place to see Orcs of Stonefang Pass and even Reavers of Harkenwold from the DM's Kit.

Yeah, I JUST read the Reavers from Harkenwold last night and must say it looks like it might be a really fun adventure. I'd definitely like to port it into my current game, though by the time I use it I might have to up the encounter levels a bit, but I enjoy doing that sort of thing...Orcs of Stonefang Pass is also definitely on my list.

I think I'll have a sit down with my FR books and give East Rift a good read-over. Thanks for the advice, Imruphel.

I've set HS1 in Lorkh in the Grey Vale in 1479 DR. Llorkh being a ruined city already fitted in pretty well as Kiris Dahn. I re-arranged lightly and made Alkirk Kiris one of the last heir of the Kiris family who ruled the town in the last century. The town of Llorkh fell to an Orc invasion 20 years ago when the Severed Eye Tribe last descended from the montains into the valley and even if they were repelled, the Orcs left the town in bad shape. It then fell to banditry and was abandonned by the Kiris family and the inhabitants who refuged to Loudwater. Several clans of Goblinoids came to occupy the ruin afterward but none has maintained dominion to last very long for a Golden Dragon lairing nearby is said to often hunt in these Ruins as witness claims a flight was often seen in the middle of the night. Recently about a hundread Goblins took residence and drove the Kobolds that stood there further in the Slums.....

I've set HS2 in the Graypeak Mountains with the Orcs descending once again in an imminent invasion.....Every two decades or so, a large army of Orcs ammass and descend into the Vale to conquer and enslave humankind.....The last descent was in 1379 DR....The Gray Pass will be menaced to shut and disrupt trades along the Grey Road on which the clinging Loudwater community and the nearby village of Orlbar thrive on. The Ruin of Llorkh testify of the strenght of the Orcs army that last marched on the Vale and brave souls need to go there and check on the Tunnel.

HS1 & HS2 fit perfectly in bloodstone valley (Damara and Vassa).

The reason is that bloodstone city was destroyed by the warlock knights.   Within the valley there are the towns Virdin and Windless that can be used for HS1.

With HS2 the great 15 mile tunnel that the dwarves of clan hillsafar built works perfectly.
