I been looking to do research a book on Fire Giants and the Drow City of Maerimydra I have yet to ascertain the Fire Giants leaves the Maerimydra.  Actually I have found very little on the Fire Giants and even less on the Fire Titans other than the regards they are warlike and very brutal.  I also found very little written in regards to the Drow being ensalved to the Fire Giants how this pretain to Shadowdale and Cormanthyr.

I read one account the City of Maerimydra is abandon (Goody I can put a Nightbringer char in to do all sorts of experiments there).  I also read that Queen Hlel has cemented control in the Maerimydra and making the Drow slaves within in their own cities.

I would love to see Mystryl to come back as well as Eilastraee but the shift is not over yet in regards to the elves.

Hi Lunarbeam,

Do you own the adventure City of the Spider Queen? It has a lot of information on Maerimydra.

I actually did own the City of the Spider Queen.  There were a lot of reference material on the fall of the Maerimydra but not the post 1377-to present (1485).  I am looking for material mostly on the Fire Giants I can pretty much guess the structure of the Drow society.   Even in my setting I having the Fire Giants a tad paranoid of the power of the Drow and the Spider Queen.  I really want information on the Fire Giants and their treatment of the Drow and even reference material on slavery of other races will be most helpful.  I don't think the Fire Giants having given up on Maerimydra and to them it is prize of their conquest.  In strategy wise it is ideal for any future scenarios involving the conquest of the Dalelands and Shadowdale in general.

I got information during the Lady Penitenent series during Kianransalee seige of Maerymidra.  Qu'rnyd Merlarn erased the name of the goddess from the living memory.  I am more interested in what happens afterwards.

The problem with the Fire Giants and Fire Titans I need to know how brutal they are but will they engage in psychological warfare against their slaves.  I have yet to find any good books on the Fire Giants in novel setting as well as campaigns.

Right now my Fire Giants like to engage in psychological tortue much as a my Sharran character does.  It may be good for the Sharran to do that but I am not really sure it makes a believable Fire Giants.  Especially when I read the Fire Giants prefer physical strength over the psychological.    It is always the nuances that will get you.

As far as I'm aware from my own research, Kurgoth Hellspawn and his fiendish allies hailed from the Desertmouth mountains on the edge of Anauroch and more specifically from the Mines of Tethyamar where his goblinoid army is from. Kurgoth is a bit different from the usual fire giant due to his demonic heritage and his crusade is as much one of opportunity for plunder as it is one of conquest.

Maerimydra is seen as a notch on his belt but both he and his demon allies will not simply rest on their laurels....if Kurgoth survived then I'm pretty sure he would lead his army on to further glories in the deep wastes (though such opportunties are sparse there) but would most likely breach the surface eventually or return to Tethyamar and try to wrest control from Tarkomong who rules there. However if Kurgoth dies then there may be little to bind the army together and they will ultimately disperse back to their homelands with perhaps maybe a small camp being left to root through the vast city's remains.

Ultimately I do not see Kurgoth's army staying long in Maerimydra (especially with the large numbers of undead that have risen during the siege) and beyond a small prescence of gobln/fire giant/drow scavengers/traders the city will become a place of burning undead and wayward magic.

A fine site for any adventuring group I'm sure, full of buried secrets and unspeakable undead.H

Hope this helps
