Hey all, I was searching through my forgotten realms books when I remembered a short story about a mystery/horror short story about a rose coloured window in a temple. The plot is basically about a priest who gets a rose window from an old priest and places it in his church, the window makes him see strange things. Just for nostalgia's sake, I want to read the story again, but where or where is it?
Sounds like it should be 'The Rose Window' in Realms of Mystery.
That one also appeared in Best of the Realms. A pretty decent yarn; the Lovecraftian element was strong from the get-go. I always found it amusing that half of the tales in BotR were nothing special, but The Rose Window was one of the better ones.

Depends on the quality of the writing. Some people can pull it off well, such as in the case of The Rose Window. In other cases, it's..... not so well done. To be honest, it's not the location that's the problem. FR can house Lovecraftian horror no problem. It's the implementation and execution that really count, and I've found it's pretty much hit-or-miss amongst those stories with LC elements (not that they're too numerous).
Im definately going to have more Lovecraft in my Realms, I just picked up the Lovecraftian Bestiary from Goodman Games. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
