Is there a novel that details the spellplague?

Still quite new to FR and I'm looking to buy some more novels. I've got Blackstaff Tower and The Erevis Cale Omnibus on my shopping list, but I'm particularly interested in a novel which describes the world just before the spellplague, the spellplague itself, and the effects shortly after.

Does such a novel exist?

Thanks

The Emperyan Odyssey series may be your best bet.
They do not directly deal with the Spellplague, but they do touch upon the event that led to it.

If I remember correctly, the Richard Lee Byers series Undead, Unclean, Unholy starts before the spellplague and the plague actually occurs in one of those novels and then you see what happens to the characters 100 years later after the plague.

This series is followed by the current Griffon Riders series (book 4 is about to release).

Byers is a great author.  I'd put him up there with Salvatore and Kemp in terms of writing compelling fantasy fiction.  These books all take place in Thay (the first trilogy) and will let you in on Szass Tam, a major evil player in the Realms.  These events connect with what's happening around Neverwinter in Salvatore's latest series as well.

I know you already placed your order, but I should have added that the Realms of the Dead story collection goes with the Undead, Unclean, Unholy series.  The story collections are also a good way to test out some of the other authors in the Realms.
