Korukawa and the island nation (convenient, huh?) of Wa are basically Faerun's answer(s) to imperial japan. not alot of listed text for 3/3.5 ed, so i just kind of cannibalize Oriental Adventures w/ FRCS and so on.

Kozakura - reflects the Warring States period. Trade are pretty open to outsider. Wa - reflect the isolationism period enacted during the Tokugawa period. Trade and contacts with outsiders are very, very limited.

#20 creyzi4zb12 Apr 02, 2008 11:38:00	It's a big waste why they didn't put it in novels...I would've loved to read about them shinobis doing jutsus, and weird magic like infinite shurikens (like that bald drow/I forgot his name), and doing spy and stealth missions like Erevis. Plus it would be great if they put in a situation where shinobis or samurai guys fight against characters from the west. I know I've read about Kung-fu used in Dragonwall before, that was cool, but ninjutsu is far more cooler than kung-fu.

#22 markustay63 Apr 02, 2008 17:05:06	There was a novel planned (check out the 2e Hero's Lorebook), but it was canned. The closest you can come is the old Dragonwall novel, and the newer The Yellow Silk. However, although both of those involve Kara-Tur, they are about Shou-Lung, and not the Island Kingdoms. There is a wealth of info on them in the old boxed (Campaign) set, as well as a half-dozen modules or so. -An amalgamation of the maps provided in the Kara-Tur Box Set, and the al-Qadim Box Set, scaled to size and color as to properly fit with the traditional map of Faerûn. Wow... thats pretty much exactly how they started. I've been 're-painting' the newer 3e textures over the old maps, though, and Kara-Tur is nearly complete. The only really 'big thing' left in that region are those 'Japanesque' Islands. The funny thing is that I had to rotate Faerûn 7.2° CW to get everything to line up like it did in 2e. Once I did that, everything fit pretty good (I used the World map in the FRCS as a template).
