Some 4th edition FR tidbits gathered from this conversion:

-Shar merged the Plane of Shadow into the Shadowfell (we all knew this one was coming), however she did it because she found it within her power to reshape the entire plane after the spellplague -she probably became stronger, also this probably means that Mask is either a lesser god, an exarch or he's moved from the Shadow Plane since Shar managed to change not only her divine realm but the entire plane-.
-Like the core Shadowfell, it's not only a reflection of the material plane (like the Shadow Plane was) but it is also a place infested with undead and shadowy creatures.
-Chauntea is still alive (that was a given).
-In this conversion (non canon I suppose) Chauntea opposes Shar's latest machinations (Selûne too it seems).
-It seems that Shar no longer wants to destroy Toril but she wants it to be filled with "darkness, evil and despair" (not stated, this is merely an assumption based on what I could gather from this text).
-Shar and Selûne created "Abeir-Toril" (does that mean that they created Abeir AND Toril and that they are goddesses on both worlds?)
-Sembia is indeed under Shar's thumb and she is openly worshiped in there and in Netheril too. The Monks of the Dark Moon are still around and they are the most devout followers of the Mistress of the Night.
-Shar's holy symbol remains the same.
-Shar's followers physically transform as their faith in Shar increases and her malign influence bleeds into their souls, they acquire the ability to see through darkness and are able to unleash necrotic energy. The most devoted followers become creatures of shadow, less powerful than shades.

Gods but I'm sick of all this Shadowcrap... but that's neither here nor there. Have fun to all who try it out.

.

I hope you're wrong about that. All we need is for Shar to become another cliched evil goddess.

I would try this adventure...in the core, PoL setting.

What bits of texts caused you to assume that? Just curious. I did quickly skim over this pdf, but not for long.

You know something, guys? I actually used to like Shar better before she became so dominant in the setting over the past few years.

However, I need to be fair--in this case, it only makes sense that the FR conversion of a Shadowfell adventure is going to be centered around Shar. So, I can't be annoyed at how Shar's popping up again in this case.

now why mess with this. It was pure Shar and they mess with it. I too hope you are wrong. But considering the way they have dealt with FR so far, you are probably right

-So did I. Shar used to be my favorite deity. Now, not so much.

Oh, I agree fully. I liked Shar before, but if she's just the evil femme fatale goddess of the Realms, I'm just going to give it pass. Besides, Lady Doom's been growing me recently ;)

This is how I'm choosing to run the adventure I'm waiting for the new CS to start a realms campaign, which I was write myself, though depending on what the sample adventure is like, or what the FR published adventure is like, I might absorb those into the campaign.
