Kelemvor and the Shadowfell

Mar 01, 2010 10:55:19 If Kelemvor is in the Fugue Plane (in the Astral Sea), how does he judge the dead when they go through the Shadowfell? Without the Raven Queen in the FR 4E cosmology, what purpose does the Shadowfell serve?

Mar 01, 2010 16:10:22 Right, the dead ussually go directly to the Fugue plane, from there some will be picked up by their gods and taken back to that god's plane, the rest are to be judged by Kelemvor. In some rare cases the dead are not ready to move, or still have work to do on the mortal plane or what have you, these are the souls who end up in the Shadowfell, this is very rare though, in most cases they go to the Fugue plane. And Shar has an Astral domain as well, she has abbonded her former Shadow plane residence.

And the purpose of the Shadowfell is to be a dark refelction of the Mortal plane. And the planes could also be seen as spell sources, Arcane energies are tied in with the Feywild, Necromatic, Illusion, and Shadow magic are tied in with the Shadowfell, Divine magic is tied with the Astral Sea and Elemental magic would be tied in with the Elemental chaos.

So yeah there is a purpose for the Shadowfell in the Realms, but not so much the Raven Queen.

Mar 02, 2010 20:59:39 I have the Raven Queen as an aspect of Kelemvor to pretty much spy on Shar in my Realms. She's also Jergal's cosort.... *wink wink*

Haha, whoops! Aspect was definitly the wrong word to use there. I really meant Exarch. She's pretty much a lesser god to Kelemvor and does alot of dirty work for him. She's also attempting to gain control over Winter and battling it out with Auril.
