A few questions concerning the Knights of Myth Drannor.
1. At what year and where did they originate?
2. Did they ever fall, or were they disbanded?
3. I know that they reformed or something in 1375DR with Ilsevel Miritar in Myth Drannor, but why were they live in Shadowdale at the time?

I thought it was 1348DR, but I thought for some reason they formed earlier.
Why name them Knights of Myth Drannor? why not knights of Shadowdale? was there a reason?

-Reading the Knights of Myth Drannor series would be a good way of getting a lot of this information "first hand".

I'd love to read it but I work 12 hours a day, and kind'a needed the info soon for upcoming adventure I'm DMing. Thought maybe someone here might know, guess not.

Well, not until the last book in the series comes out at least ;).

I'd get the information out of the campaign guides myself. I gave "Shadowdale" and the begining of "Tantras" a try. They're both complete ****, after that I'm unwilling to try any FR books, sad really.

-I had no problem with either book. Opinions differ, oh well.

-Yeah it looks like we need Old Sage, Krash, or BRJ to save the day! :D I never really got into them, or the Harpers, or The Chosen. ;)

The lived in Shadowdale because their task was to guard and patrol the ruins of Myth Drannor, not to resettle it. Shadowdale was their base of operations since it was a haven/point of light, though now its likely just another farming settlement with an increased fey presence. Moreover, prior to reclamation of the city 1374 DR, it was generally not a good idea to try to live in the ruins of Myth Drannor itself.

Well, there Hall of Heroes as well as the Heroes' Lorebook has information on the lot of them, especially the former. Yet, be warned readers of the trilogy that some information may not be welcome regarding the fate of some of them ... as I sadly found out while doing a revision on KoMD II.

Which as I recall from your own words you have not;)

Great novels, some of Ed's best in my opinion. No overpowered or underpowered characters, though there is still the typical massive slaughter of hirelings and mages in an almost comical fashion that I have seen exemplified in his work, as well as the dialogue.

-Indeed, haven't read them, and not really too interested right now, either.

I actually tried moving in there, once. ;) Sadly with the DM getting burnt out, and my having to take over the DM reigns, combined with my discomfort with running a DM PC, I had to give up those plans.

Ed's Knights of Myth Drannor series goes a long way in explaining how the KoMD got started, including why they are called "The Knights of Myth Drannor".

It's not that they ever disbanded, it's just that many of the most well known members retired and settled down.

1. Espar.

2. No. The Knights' history after 1358 DR, where Ed's campaign is at, has been kept vague in print.

FR7 Hall of Heroes is where to go for a potted summary.

There's no comparison between the Shadowdale and Tantras novels, written before authors other than Ed and Jeff Grubb knew the Realms' arse from its elbow, and the Knights books.

in respect to Ed's campaign

we should all go back to 1358

-And lose all of the positive development that has happened since then? I think not.

1358 is better than 1479

-But not as good as, say, 1372. But, none of this has to do with the Knights of Myth Drannor!
