Hello, could anyone help me with this:

Darkhold, originally called The Keep of the Fallen Hills, is the western stronghold of the Zhentarim, located near the Sunset Mountains in the Western Heartlands. It's currently lead by a character called The Pereghost. Could anyone explain, please, what this name means?

I am confused about the article. Why is it *The* Pereghost?

His background is a mystery. It's believed that he is a fallen paladin or some foul creature spawned on another plane or an undead creature.

In Darkhold, there is a simmering tension and constant vicious petty intrigue (maneuvering but no open bloodshed, thanks to a pact between the Pereghost and the seldom-seen senior Zhentarim mage known as Hesperdan, seemingly powerful enough to be independent from Manshoon.

Do what you want with the name.

Actually, Hesperdan's been given a fair amount of face time in some of Ed's novels. As for the latter part of this statement, let's just say I enjoy giving Hesperdan the illusion of autonomy. Laughing

Is Darkhold even still around in 4e? I know Zhentil Keep, and Citadel of the Raven was blasted. What about the floating temple the Zhents had? is it still around? I havnt heard mention of it since 2e, but i dont recall anything saying it was destroyed or fell from the sky during the Spellplauge or anything.

Yes, it is. It is, in fact, under my control, and houses Zhent mercenaries willing to take on any task, no matter how evil, for the right price. Cool

Darkhold is the location of a recent LFR quest adventure, so it exists in 4E.  Some of the leadership is detailed in the adventure as the PCs are spying on them.  The adventure name and blurb is reposted.  You can find a complete list of available LFR adventures on a wiki page in the Living Forgotten Realms group.

You have haggled with the potter, you have given the coin to the stranger, and you have spared the life of an agent. Now, the Zhentarim is offering you a chance to join their ranks. Darkhold and the secrets of the Black Network await for those clever and ruthless enough to infiltrate the Zhentarim. A Living Forgotten Realms adventure set in the Western Heartlands for characters levels 7-10.

Now that I know about the infiltrators and their plans, I will have them exterminated. Thank you for the heads-up, Keith. All "heroes" who have completed or are in the middle of completing this mission have now been executed and fed to the crocodiles. Thanks for playing. You lose.Cool

I do stick around Stormkeep, but I hold constant vigil over all my territories. Darkhold is currently governed by a leader I appointed. She's a cunning young half-elf with her father's intellect and her mother's focus, named Sememmi.Cool

Not really. A bunch of Manshoons, each with a different aspect of my consciousness, vying and working in concert with each other holds much potential. Of course, a bunch of Manshoons sharing the same, unified consciousness and pinning down territories all over the continent is just as wonderful.Cool

...Says the one with the multiple identities on this board.

Seriously, though, why you thought I would create multiple profiles is beyond me. What would be the point? There won't be any other Manshoons beyond me, just like there won't be any Deltas beyond you, or Nightseers after the one and only, etc.

Are you by chance thinking of her mother, Ashemmi? Cause Semmemi is my homebrew child of that one and Sememmon. At least, I don't recall that being the name of their child. I know they had Ashemmon, but that one is a male.

Canonically speaking: Sememmon and Ashemmi are MIA. There are hints that they live in Rhymanthiin. That, or one/both bit the dust. Ashemmon was Archmage of Rhymanthiin, became Blackstaff, and then perished later. He is the unofficial child of Ashemmi and Sememmon (though, let's face it, it's basically been stated in his little bio in BT).

My Realms: Sememmon and Ashemmi dwell in Rhymanthiin, where they live to this day. Their firstborn child was Ashemmon, who became Archmage of that city. He became friends with Krehlan Arunsun, and saved the Blackstaff from an assassination attempt. He was then established as the right hand man of the Blackstaff, a role he continues to this day. (Note that he and Krehlan are both alive in my 1479 DR, and that Krehlan is still Blackstaff). As for Sememmi, she was born years (decades?) after her brother. She's still pretty young in 1479 DR. Only a teenager. She actually wanders the realms with the daughter of Laeral and Khelben, Krehlan's twin (I gave her a name, can't remember it at this time). Krehlan's twin has years of experience and plenty of magical might, so Sememmi is in good hands. The Sememmi at Darkhold is a construct, made to act and think like the real deal. The Zhentarim decided it might be a potential lure. If they can sever the connection between Sememmon and his daughter, they can set up a trap, pretending they've captured Sememmi and are holding her hostage. Of course, my former right-hand man is far better than anyone else stationed at Darkhold. Unless, of course, I drop in for a chat. But ultimately, I don't feel inclined to punish Sememmon, since leaving when he did was the sensible thing. I wish him and his kin well. But still, I'll let the grunts at Darkhold have their fun, and if they do bring down Sem's wrath, the weak will be culled from the strong.

Thanks! I've always used the Zhentarim as bad guys, occassionally throwing in a couple of neutral ones with whom the players could interact positively. At this time, our campaign isn't focused on that part of the Realms. We're playing in the Unapproachable East, and while I've been DM for 75% of our past adventures, for this particular campaign, I'm a player and one of my friends, who ran the other 25%, is at the helm. However, I've been cooking up new lore for the rest of the world. So, when I DM, I'll use this hook when the players near the Heartlands.

Sounds kool! So how is your buddy at DMing? we used to trade off bein DM, but it got a little crazy, people have some odd ideas. My buddy was runnin us through an old module, i cant remember which one, but it involved vegepygmies and a spaceship. anyway the guy runnin it expected us to keep the spaceship and use it as a base of operations, we the pcs were kinda werided out by the whole thing so we sent it into high orbit around Toril. Out of sight out of mind, well any way it got to be my turn to DM and i had some adventure in the ruins of Myth Drannor, i dont recall exactly what now, but they ended up revitalizing the Mythal and began restoring the city, ok not too crazy (after all that actually ended up happening), but when my buddy took over as DM he remembered that stupid space ship and some how the whole city of Myth Drannor got teleported into the Space ship! Ugghhhh! And it just went down hill from there, taking over hell, and the like.

That was my co-DMing expeirence

The Knights of Myth Drannor trilogy gives him a few appearances. I believe he makes cameos in all three of them. Granted, it's not the kind of attention which allows you to really get to know him, like you would, say, when Khelben or Durnan makes an appearance, but it still offers a look at his schemes.

You could also join one of our sister groups: the Night Masks, the Remnants of Zhentil Keep, or the Heroes of the FR Boards (this last one is the most fun, since you work with the likes of the legendary Delta, Stigger, LK when he's around, etc.). Oh, and to the other Boards Heroes who are unaware of your connection to Stormwatch, where do you think our funding's been coming from?

I'm not quite as benevolent as Karsus the Mad.

You've no idea how cruel or kind I can be.

Besides I'm somewhat disappointed about the path Semmemon went down after he left Darkhold for good. I couldn't understand why he would be willing to socialize with Khelben and I had an even harder time to understand how he could ally himself with Khelben, but the hardest time I had for being caught by the impression that he would even fraternize with him. That gave me the heeby-jeebies! That wasn't the Semmemon I had known. I suspected him of becoming a member of the Arcane Brotherhood and after bringing in Ashemmi would eventually take over leadership of the organisation. I was convinced that he never would risk to have company which would be able to pin him down or even crush him. That he would make certain that his allies were needing him more as he was needing them, at all times. That he would make sure to be unexpendable for anyone he runs with. None of these considerations would allow Semmemon to deal with Khelben the way he did, according to canon.

But thats not impersonation. LK was just fine with someone running around with the name "Karsus the Mad", oh thats right "Karsus the Mad" was here first. So "Karsus the Mad" could have reported LK for impersonating him.

-Actually, no, KtM appeared a bunch of months after I first registered. I didn't become an active regular in the community until about a year later, between which KtM registered and became a regular contributor to the boards.

-Sol O______ for those still mulling Ody's early origins.

Do what you want with the name.

in "the lords of darkness" book it actually give u all the details, that  name is just a nickname because of the skull emblem on his helmet

I forgot to mention that the Lycanthropy in question is Were-Beaverism.

Yes! Its official!!

It has been confirmed over at Candlekeep that there are Were-Beavers in the Realms!
