Listing of Forgotten Realms' NPC Organizations?

I can't find a listing of 4e NPC organizations. For example, Purple Dragon Knights, Zhentarim, etc.

Jul 06, 2009 12:25:19 I am working ona list of the Ruling people and bodies in various regions, but I think that you are probably looking for a more general list. Not particularly the ones in power, but the ones that just are, right?

I haven't seen one of those. If you find one, post the link please!

Jul 06, 2009 16:02:34 Right - for example in Living Greyhawk you had a ton of organizations that player's could join. Knights of Luna, Knights of the Watch, etc.

Jul 12, 2009 2:05:17 The new organizations are the Eminence of Araunt, Warlock Knights of Vaasa and some spellscarred cult in the Vilhon. Other are the same like before, except the Arcane Brotherhood.

-A problem with that is, given the information-light approach of 4e, in regards to the Forgotten Realms, we don't necessarily know what organizations are around anymore, or in what fashion they're still around in. Take the Harpers, for example. Generally, the rule of thumb is that, if nothing is mentioned, the thing continues to exist. The problem is, if whatever organization still exists, it might be fundamentally changed because of Spellplague/the passage of time/something else, and we might not even know...

* The apocryphal "guide book" that Rich Baker has made mentions of, that spell out what's going on in the setting, that the designers used.

For instance, in the 'Ask Rich Baker' thread someone just brought it to Rich's attention that god's can deny their followers spells in a recent DDi article.

He stated flat-out that the article was incorrect, and that gods can only grant spell-wielding power to followers once, and they have no power over taking it back.

There are dozens of such problems popping-up in a ruleset that is barely a year old. Obviously, everyone is working with a very different copy of this alleged 'FR manifesto'.

Either that, or no-one is bothering to read it... which does seem more likely, now that I think about it...

Rich mentioned "it" when the FRCG first came out, and people began asking about various people/place/organizations/deities/whatever else that were not mentioned in the FRCG. More or less, he said that he and other designers know what happened to those thing, because they have "the blueprints", but many things in "the blueprints" weren't printed (purposely). So, we know that something exists.

Unfortunately, you have to click on countless links t navigate through them all. I'm trying to compile a list of 4e FR organizations for a TableSmith table and it's a slow and painful process.

as other mentioned, it's not easy trying to figure out whether an organization still exists in 4e FR. Sometimes the 4e FR books mention the organizations (either still around or gone), and sometimes they don't mention them at all.

OT, the FRCG mentions several organizations throughout the book.
The ones I have been involved with include the Eldreth Veluuthra, the Zhentarim, the Nine Swords, the Fire Knives, and the Fist of Vengeance.
Organisations confirmed later (through RPGA) include the Stellar Society of Gentle Adventurers and the Six Coffers Market trading house.
New organizations added (through RPGA) include the Chiang Consortium.

I completed the first pass, verifying that organizations mentioned on the FR wiki site are still in one of the 4e Fr releases (FRCg, FRPG, FR Adventures). Passes 2+ will be automated scouring the books to find organizational keywords (order of, brotherhood, knights of, etc..)
