Hey folks,

I was wondering if a kindly loremaster could furnish me with some directions. I know that Elturgard hastrode to battle against the creatures from the Plaguelands, but I am not sure were on the map this is taking place.

I appreciate your help.

from the 4e map, all I can see of the plaguelands are to the south east. that said running into battle from plaguechanged monsters and all, can just be done about anywhere

This is a heavily traveled area or crossroads for trade so there could be many types of things to work or throw in here.  I try to remember though when traveling through this area or camping in mosquito buzzing woods there would be a bright orb of light in the distance floating over Elturel.  Now I live in the sticks and as I look around the horizon dome filled with stars I can see where townships are or if the ball field is lights are on.  I say this because hungry beasties might also be drawn to or near the edges of a place where Paladins and Clerics defend a sacred city.  To the North of this area is the borderlands of Netheril and Najara.  Many plots can be sown there.  I also like to throw in the History of Boareskyr Bridge and I have used the ink black Waters of that river to carry a strange glow on certain nights of the Moon Phase.  I also had peoples of the area warning travellers not to leave the main road or travel far beyond farmers fields.

Just some things I have used in that area before.  My players still remember the small group Yuan-ti in the guise of barfolk (a cloaked adventurer, a strumpet, a bard, and drunken merchant).  The disturbed old adventurer who warned them with his concealed Death Ray Wand aimed at their leader under the table asking the Player to sip the Potion of True Sight and tell the crazed old wand holding adventurer what he saw in the bar around them.

Per ADCP2-1 p.10, it's "few miles south of the city"
